These are applications for managing the studio Girls Who Don’t Fit In. Applications: Closed! ^^ - In process of deciding - Thank you all for your patience. <3 ▹ What’s a manager, anyway? Wonderful question! A manager of a Scratch studio can add and remove curators and other managers, But what about GWDFI managers specifically? Well, GWDFI’s managers are part of the moderation team. Manager’s responsibilities can include (but are not limited to) inviting curators, having occasional “host shifts,” managing drama in the studio, and making important decisions about the studio’s future. Please do remember that managing can be stressful, and is a responsibility. If you don’t have time for it in your life or don’t think you can handle it, maybe it’s a good idea to wait until next time promotions roll around. ^^ ▹ How should I apply? Comment here! Make sure your application includes: - Your username you’d like to be promoted on, if accepted - Your pronouns - How long you’ve been a GWDFIer - How active you are the the studio And optionally: - Your timezone (if you’re comfortable sharing ^^) - Why would you make a good manager? Any traits or skills? - Any weaknesses in leading, and how you would manage them - Any times you’ve shown your potential as managing? What have you done for the studio in the past? - Anything else goals for the future of the studio? - Anything else you feel is relevant, or anything we should know. ^^ While you could put all of this in a form, I think it’s a little more natural if it’s written out. :] ▹ What are the requirements to becoming a manager? I wouldn’t say there are requirements to managing, but I’ll offer a list of guidelines that might be helpful in considering whether you’d be a solid manager candidate. This varies on a case by case basis, but if you find yourself not meeting a lot of these guidelines, you might need to step back and ask yourself if you’re certain that applying for the position is a good idea. ▹ Guidelines: - A curator of the studio GWDFI. - Have been a GWDFIer for AT LEAST two months. - Aren’t regularly involved in drama - Have at least a little bit of time in your life - At very least, tries to stay within GWDFI rules. Honest mistakes are fine—they happen. ^^ - Ability to handle drama to some degree. If you’re applying, do know that there may be some drama and stress. Take care of yourself, and know whether you can or can’t handle it. - Be a generally good presence in the studio. I know it’s easy to get upset and snap at someone, but if you find yourself biting back every time someone annoys you, managing may not be for you yet. ▹ Final notes: We don’t yet know who we’re promoting, however, we’ve seen people’s behavior in the studio. Even if your application is really well-written, the largest factor in the way you’re considered for promotion is YOU—your actions, your words, and your choices. Being responsible DOES NOT phase out when it’s not promotions season. Also, curators are so incredibly important to the studio. Just because you aren’t promoted or aren’t interested in promotion DOES NOT MEAN you aren’t a valuable member of this team. <3 Managing isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay. We don’t know how many people were going to promote. I’d estimate about 3 people, though this number is highly speculative. We’re not sure when deadlines are, but we’ll let you know as time goes on. Thank you for reading, and good luck. <3 It’s always wonderful to see people who want to make our [‘our’ meaning both the curators’ AND managers’] studio and the world a better place. - Krm
