This is a demo for a method of displaying players/bots in MMO scratch games (when they come in the player's view) MMOスクラッチゲームで 視野に入るプレーヤーやbotのクローンを表示させる仕組みです。 In Scratch Splatoon, every player or bot has only 2 clones, which is good. But for the upcoming 3D games, each player/bot will have at least 5 clones. Because of Scratch's clone limit and processing load, we have to come up with a method to display only a few players at a time. In this case I made a demo where all bots' positions are stored in lists (BotX,BotY). The parent sprite checks every bot to see if they're within the radius of the mouse, and adds their numbers to the list BotsInView_CloneBuffer (inserting at the top of the list). By looking at the top of the list we can see all of the "newest" bots (the bots who just entered the player's view). We will display a maximum of 15 newest bots. 5 of them (the 5 newest) will have a full clone set of three clones each, and the other 10 will just have a single skin clone. (All clones are created in advance.) The clones are mapped to the correct bot number and go to the position in the BotX,BotY lists. (Like in Splatoon, the #1 newest player can also have its name displayed). This method makes it so that instead of 150 clones, this demo only has 25!
