Notice: This project is in early release and still unfinished as of February 4th. Butttttt I am working on it currently. =========================================== Tilt | A Puzzle Platformer =========================================== [spawns back again from the void, again] Uh, hello again? (Okay, I know I said I'd add to my Zelda trivia project (https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1049546798/), but my stupid chromebook won't even let me open it without crashing and I've been busy, sooo...) Note: PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR GAME-PLAY CLARITY. =========================================== Instructions: 1.) Hit that Green Flag twice 2.) Pick a game mode: - WASD movement with arrow key tilt - Arrow key movement with WASD tilt 3.) Pick a tilt orientation: - Normal - Inverted 4.) Move the player character to the red dot Note: You CANNOT FLIP ON A GRAY LINE. 5.) Repeat step 2 until you've completed all the levels 6.) Yay! You're a winner! ♪Recommended audio on for better experience♪ =========================================== Specific Button Controls (WASD / Arrow Keys Modes): A / Left Arrow - go left D / Right Arrow- go right Left Arrow / A- left tilt Right Arrow / D- right tilt R - reset level L - (hold) shows level count T - (hold) shows timer H - (hold) brings up Help Menu Konami Code - ??? ;) (works best on the selection menu) =========================================== Goals: - Make a game that feels like a random mobile game that you constantly get ads for - Create an engine for a future project? =========================================== Credits: - Code and whatnot all by @Sea-Wolf-, who is me - Music from The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages - Special thanks to my poor involuntary betas who I forced to play test this :D =========================================== Bugs: - There's this bug if the level angle is -90 (upside-down) and the player is in one of the left three gray boxes where you are unable to flip. This only seems to be a problem in the white and black levels. If this happens, just press R to reset. All levels are completable regardless. - While playing, it's possible to get stuck inside a wall. Thankfully, this is easy to deal with; either flip back to where you came from or press R to reset. =========================================== Update Log: (1/27/2025) - Started progress - Built good chunk of the engine - Created basic levels - Made thumbnail and player sprites (1/28/2025) - Polish and gameplay improvements - Notification update - Ten complete levels now - Allowed early access? (nope) (1/29/2025) - Added more levels - Added music - Failed to make a trail for the player character - Added tilt ability for clicking the different sides of the screen (1/30/2025) - Beta first rating: "4.5/5 stars" whatever that means - Finally figured out how to properly do looping music per level. It only took me five years. - Made s'more levels. - Created fakeout thumbnail lol - updated thumbnail - released early access 1/31/2025 - Beta first review: "Okay, that's really fun. And a good challenging puzzle, too." Give me something more please to work with please :) - Beta first review: "Cool, but I feel like the arrows are backwards." Guess I'll implemented flipped axis mode then. And might as well rework mode selection while I'm at it. - Reworked mode selection - Added normal and inverted flip directions - You are welcome Beta - Added "cool level transition" - More levels added - Beta second review: "the customization of the controls is definitely an improvement." Thanks Beta ! - Beta second review: "the animation thing gets dizzying once you start rotating the box faster." I have the solution to this one. It's called just don't rotate the box faster? I could remove the clone effect, but that just feels boring... Hmm. - Added less clone ghost effect - More levels - Might have figured out unable-to-flip bug. It'll be a drag to fix, though. 2/1/2025 - Beta : "Moving objects that you can't tough. Or a timer that counts down per level before you lose. Or a two player? The only issue was clipping. Or you could start in the center and have to drop down as you go." - Dropping down... why didn't I think of that. 2/2/2025 - Considering implementing a timed challenge mode. 2/3/2025 - Borrowed music code for next project planned for release on February 21st, 2025.
