Niche: Bottomfeeder Size: 12 cm Clade: Hexpoda Lifestyle: The diacanth lives in shallow areas, where it usually resides near the bottom without moving much. The diacanth has a hard spine that reaches from the head to the start of the dorsal fin. From there, another longer, more elastic spine starts down to the tale, which keeps the diacanths head in place and makes it easier to control, whilst also allowing for a more flexible body for quick turns, a useful feature in the tight reefs of Candara. The diacanths large mouth does not bear such a spine nor similar, and is more flexible than the rest of the head. It has several sharp teeth that allow it to eat any smaller organism that it can catch.
