It's not really done yet, as I still need more shading, but since my Chromebook's camera quality sucks, no one will really tell the difference between now and finished. And anyways, the deadline for this art contest was coming up, so yeah. This is inspired by M.C. Escher's artwork. His was made using lithography. Click space, D, or right arrow to see the original artwork made by M.C. Escher. Lithography is a process where you take a metal sheet, and then using a sort of knife tool thingiemajigie, making lines across and diagonal. Then, for the art itself, you basically scratch away using another knife tool thingiemajigie at the shape of what you want. The more you scratch away, the less texture there is, and the smoother. Then, once it's done, you basically use it as a stamp/printmaking thing. So basically, M.C. Escher did this art using lithography, meaning he didn't use pencil at all. He carved it into a metal sheet, which is crazy, because I originally thought it was regular pencil and shading. Anyways, I decided to do mine with regular pencil, obviously because not only do I not have the materials necessary for lithography, but also because lithography takes about 1200 hours, and I honestly don't have enough time to spend 50 hours making straight lines on a metal sheet before starting the actual artwork. And also, I usually use pencil to draw, and it's what I'm used to. And it's what I'm the best at. -----------------------------------CREDITS-------------------------------- M.C.
