Chapter 15 Chiron ---------------- In the morning, I get up and go find Chiron. I ask him about the prophecy and would it be so bad for four people to come. “Hmm well, it sounds like -for this one quest- no.” I almost jumped, I was so happy. I put on a calm face and said, “Oh okay, thanks!” Chiron nodded and I ran off. I sprinted to the Hephestus cabin, in hopes that Jacob was there. My half-siblings turned and watched as I ran, I didn’t even care that I was attracting attention. “Abby!” I heard someone yell out. Havi. “Yea?!” I yelled over my shoulder. “What’s going on?!” “I’ll tell you later, meet me at the lake!” “Okay?” I kept running. I skidded to a stop at Jacob’s cabin. I accidentally lost my balance and smashed into the door. I quickly climbed to my feet as Jacob answered the door. “Oh- Uh Hi Abby,” he said. “Hi.” I reply, breathlessly. Man, I sprinted far. “I need you for a- a second.” I panted. “Uh, okay?” Jacob said, confused. “What’s up?” I pant one more time and say, “Do you have a second? To go somewhere? Really quickly?” “Uhh… Well, I’m supposed to go to archery.. But, sure! Where?” “Great, follow me,” I say and grab his hand. I could have sworn that his cheeks turned pink, but I drag him to the lake where Havi and Aternus is. “What in Hades are we doing here?” Jacob asks and Havi nods. Aternus signs something in agreement. “Okay, so you all know about this weirdo quest-” I say and Havi interjects, “Not him,” pointing to Jacob. He throws his hands up and opens his mouth to say something but before he can I say, “No, he knows. I told him.” “Oh.” Havi says and I nod. “Well, I decided that all of you guys should come with me.” I say, pacing. Aternus signs, ‘But I thought there could only be three people on a quest?’ Havi sees and nods. I continue, “And I asked Chiron, and he said it’s okay for this one, so there.” There was a collective amount of blinks. I sigh and continue, slowly. “So could you guys come with me on this quest?” More silence. I groan, “What do I have to do?! Do I have to write out formal invitations or something?! ‘Cause I’m not doing that, okay?! I’m dyslexic!” Havi gasps. “What? Is that so hard to believe? Annabeth is too.” “I know,” Havi says, “But still. I didn’t know that.” “Well it’s not some big secret.” Then Jacob interjects saying “Well how about we try to figure out what this prophecy means? Or at least parts of it?” Aternus nods. And with that we just sat in a circle and started to decode some of the prophecy.
