Five years ago, the people of Brightshire looked ahead into the future with cautious optimism. But instead, the decade brought upon some of the worst years the nation has seen since the economic crash. When the Liberal-Democrats were beat out by the Social Democrats in the 1060 General Election, it signified a new era for the country. When their economic reforms stalled out thanks to Brightshire's ideological isolation, the steady progress Preston Chambers had made in his last term was wiped away as the economy began to stagnate. As 1065 dawns on the nation, a new period of isolation begins. With the new General Election soon to come, the nation sees itself unwilling to engage with the outside world. The dependency on naval superiority has left the Royal Brighton Navy bloated and expensive to manage, leaving the Army all but outdated as well as neglected. Sweeping social change will be needed- whether that be from an external force, or from the inside. The Lion falls asleep, and its up to the people of Brightshire and the world to wake it up.
