Q1: What's your favourite genre/genres? A: Mystery, real-fi, romance, and more recently hi-fi Q2: Have you ever finished writing a story? A: yep! two now ;D Q3: First person POV, second person POV, or third person POV? A: first, ew, who writes second person? second, I use mostly first person, but occasionally a little third person for that dramatic irony B) Q4: Do you have a favourite author? If so, who? A: Stuart Gibbs. I, too, wish I had a more mature writing taste. Q5: Do you want to be a writer when you're older? A: I want to keep writing, but probably not professionally because there are other things I want to do with my life. Q6: Do you have any advice for writers? If so, what is it? A: Publish your stuff, esp fanfics! Not on paper, but the best way to keep motivation is by having an audience who you can interact with. Q7: When it comes to writing, are you a perfectionist? A: not really lol. I'll try to fix runon sentences but it rarely works :'D Q8: Have you shared a story on scratch before? A: yeah, a really long time ago. it was about this wolf who hurt his paw and it got amputated or sum-? it was really low quality, I think I was like- eight Q9: What's your favourite plot structure? (7 point plot structure, hero's journey plot structure, etc) A: wherever my chaotic brain wants to take me. I'm more of a pantser anyhow :P Q10: What's your inspiration? A: Broadly, things I'm interested in. For example I wrote a fanfic (we don't ask abt fandom here lol) a little while ago where the characters went to a ranch, because it's interesting to me. Currently I'm writing one that has some US history tied in. Specifically, this sounds way worse than it is, but I'll see a plot point in another book (for example, someone getting crushed by something in an explosion) and I'll go "that's cool" and figure out how to work it into my story without making it look like plagiarism. Q11: Do you like making graphic novels/comics? A: not really, I'm a horrible artist :') Q12: Poetry, or story writing? A: stories. occasionally, I can make a poem work, but my band kid self always puts some other song with it and it's like- aaugh I don't like it Q13: Fiction or non-fiction? A: depends. for fun, fiction, but occasionally I'll write a tedEd kind of thing like "why do we hate advertising?" when I want to actually use my brain. Q14: What's your favourite book/series? A: oh god, I'm going to be judged, whenever I say it, everyone asks why... (spy school) (I don't want to talk about it) Q15: Do you believe in writers block? A: I mean, I'm not here to tell other people how to live, but I've personally never experienced it? just highs and lows of motivation that fluctuate with my ideas. Q16: What about reader's block? A: once again, never experienced it? I mean I'm sure it's possible but- Q17: Do you like putting references in your stories? (references to other books, a movie, songs, etc) A: OH YES. I LOVE IT. someone always gets it, and I get to fangirl with them <33 idk if this counts, but I also have this tradition where in every story I have to fit the words "distressed" and "sardine" as well as a fourth-wall breakage EXACTLY ONCE. idk if anyone's caught on yet but- Q18: Do you like writing chapter books? A: yeah, that's like- debatably the best way to make sure you finish- Q19: Realistic fiction or unrealistic fiction? A: real-fi. I like having all the rules and worldbuilding already established, and that applies to both complex characters (which I sadly cannot create) and a basic sense of gravity. Q20: Have you ever written a character based on someone in real life? A: yup! a self-insert whose backstory we don't share but will most definitely get me blocked, and this one guy who's a combination of Lafayette (the cool one from Hamilton who can rap, not the old sexist one) and my awesome older brother :D Q21: Do you give MBTI personality types to your characters? A: ...no? they get a neat five-bullet personality description in a five-page Word document, and an excessively complicated love triangle that can only be explained in my head, but that's really it :P Q22: Writing in a notebook or writing on google docs? A: neither B) for most things, I use a website we'll call... uhh... /Thattpad/ cause I'm too lazy to copy-paste. For school stuff, I use Microsoft Word :P Q23: What do you think is the best thing for someone to do when they get writers block? A: Personally, I stop writing until I have an absolutely burning urge to go back, and then I usually just either make someone's relationship fall apart or add some random fluff where they go to a restaurant or sum :P Q24: When did you realize you wanted to be a writer? A: never honestly, I always just thought it was more fun to be in control of the story than read something else someone else wrote.
Q25: Do you have a lot of OCs? A: I think I have like- three in use currently- everyone else is either canon or I stopped using them cause they were stupid Q26: Do you have a lot of stories you are writing? A: technically yes, although actively I'm just working on one rn Q27: What's the most difficult part of planning a story? A: haha. I just don't. So no. Q28: Do you do journaling? A: not really... I used to but honestly my thoughts aren't that interesting soo Q29: Do you write in one specific way/theme, or lots of different ways/themes? e.g. fantasy, third person, non-fiction, first person, second person, fiction, etc A: not really! although I always write in a certain... dialect, I guess, trying to make my writing sound like someone else's is really uncomfortable to me personally Q30: Do you find it hard to write the first chapter/ prologue? A: not really, I don't start without a good concept for a prologue. Q31: Have you drawn your characters before? A: noo, too cringey, I just can't. someone else did a fanart of something I wrote, and I had to close it after a few seconds because I was actually sweating with cringe *cries* Q32: Have you roleplayed with your characters before? A: with them, or /with/ them? like, "I played with my toys" or "I played with my friends?" either way, not really, idek what we'd all do... Q33: Do you think you take way too long planning what to write instead of actually writing? A: nope, I'm not a planner. I just kind of write and my only criteria is "will I be absolutely repulsed by the cringiness when I'm older? PERFECT." Q34: What's your favourite part when editing? A: watching the word count of a chapter jump from 1,993 to 2,105. Real-world example ;D Q35: What's your least favourite part when editing? A: rereading my runon sentences and admitting defeat because there's nothing I can do about them. Q36: How long have you been writing? A: since like- fifth grade- so three, four years now? Q37: Have you tried writing in a new way before? A: nope, I love what I have. Q38: What, in your opinion, is the most fun theme to write about? (not genre. A theme is like war, coming of age, good vs evil, family, etc) A: a little bit of everything. I like to make the characters grow up while battling evil, starting families, and half the time they're in the middle of a pandemic or natural disaster... I can't do much with characters, so I have to compensate with a very chaotic plot. Q39: Have you written characters with sad backstories? A: yes. very. Q40: Have you ever written yourself in a story? A: yup! different name and backstory, doesn't have PTSD, but yeah, she's there. Q41: Do you usually unintentionally make a side character more interesting than a main character? A: I think I do a good enough job avoiding that because I spend so much time in the main character's heads, but there are some INSANE love triangles/pentagons/webs with the side characters Q42: Have you ever written a character as something other than a human? A: not anyone important, although soon they're gonna go work with guide dogs, and the dogs are going to get very distinct personalities, so kind of? Q43: Have you ever written the main character as the villain before? A: no, it's too sad when they get defeated. Which always has to happen. It satisfies the moral part of me. Q44: What's your favourite things to put in stories? (things you personally find entertaining to read/write) A: the most unnecessary crossover thingies. Like the one I'm writing currently, Hamilton has occurred in seperate forms three times. It's not even that plot relevant in any of them. Q45: Have you written romance before? A: yeah! it's not very good, since I've never actually been in a relationship, (crosses fingers) but I do my best. Q46: Do you put life lessons in your stories? A: not really- I don't read to learn some deep meaning about life, so I never really see why someone else would. Q47: What's your favourite character from a book? A: I love Charlie Thorne. she's so calm and calculating all the time but still a teenage girl? it's amazing. Q48: Writing or drawing? A: writing, all day. Q49: Writing or reading? A: writing. It's more fun to be in control of the story. Q50: Have you written a main character as the complete opposite of you before? A: no, I use someone else's characters and I think we're like- 60% similar-
