Hey Scratch Fam, So, I've gotta talk about something that's been bugging me and some of my friends. You know how Scratch is supposed to be this cool place where we can all be creative and chill together, right? Well, lately, it seems like some people aren't getting the memo about respecting each other's stuff. Specifically, I'm talking about these OCs (Original Characters) that we all make. It's totally not cool when someone takes your OC and uses it in their projects without asking. That's like taking someone's drawing from art class and passing it off as your own without giving them any credit. And if you don't know, OCs are like, super personal to the people who make them. It's like someone's baby, you know? So when someone swipes your OC, it can make you feel pretty crappy. Now, there's this one user, @mama-y-felipe, who's been doing this to a bunch of us. They've been taking our OCs and sticking them into their projects like they own 'em. And the projects aren't even cool, like "Custom Alphabet Lores", which are fine when done right, but theirs are totally biting off Mike Salcedo's vibe. Their "Gobo Evolution Ripoffs" that are also just not okay. It's like, come on, be original, bro. But here's the deal: it's not just about the rules. Sure, it's against the Scratch Community Guidelines to be a copycat and use someone's OC without permission, especially when you start mixing them into scary stuff that the original creator never meant for them. Some of us are just trying to have fun and learn, and we don't wanna see our characters in a horror show without even being asked. What's up with that? It's just not right, and it makes people feel pretty bad. So let's all just chill and respect each other's work, yeah? It's way more fun to make your own characters and tell your own stories. Trust me, it's super satisfying and you learn a bunch about creating stuff and the whole copyright deal. If you really, really want to use someone's OC, just hit them up and ask. It's easy, and if they say no, that's their call. They might have reasons or just don't wanna share. But if they say yes, make sure you follow their rules. It's all about being cool with each other. Let's keep Scratch a place where everyone feels good about sharing their ideas and stuff. We can all be more original and do our own thing, which is way better than just copying someone else's work. So let's all be cool and respect each other's OCs, okay? It's just the right thing to do. Peace out,
C2A! No offense is targeted towards anyone.
