I just lost The Game... and you lost too. But what is The Game? Well, it's simple. There are only 3 rules: 1. Everyone is playing The Game, whether they know it or not 2. If you ever start thinking about The Game, you lose 3. Once you lose, you have to announce in some way that you've lost, whether it be verbally or through a note The main goal of The Game is to not think about The Game (it's a whole mind game) ...and you just lost :) Don't worry though, you get back into The Game when you stop thinking about it (it's harder than you think) The concept of The Game has really fascinated me. It's impossible to win The Game since you've already lost. The only way to really "win" The Game is to never know about the concept of The Game in the first place. But does it really constitute a win if you don't even know that you've won? One of the more fun, tactical parts of The Game is that once you've lost, you've got two options: try to forget about The Game as soon as possible, or take advantage of the fact that you lost to make other people lose. There's a reason why rule No. 3 exists. When you lose, it's basically your duty to make more people aware of The Game and make them lose in turn. Many people do this by simply stating that they've lost, or by writing it down somewhere that will remind people of The Game. It's a lot like rickrolling, where you gotta troll people. You don't wanna go on for too long thinking about The Game however, since you want to get back into The Game, which, again, is done by not thinking about The Game anymore. The fact that just thinking about The Game makes you lose really sets up a paradox. In order to avoid thinking about The Game, you have to first be aware that you're thinking about The Game to make yourself stop thinking about The Game. But since you are already thinking about The Game, you've lost. Realistically, it is impossible to stop yourself from thinking about The Game and you can only mitigate it by avoiding things that will remind you of The Game. But, again, in order to avoid these things, you have to actively be aware that these things remind you of The Game, and at that point you end up thinking about The Game anyway. The Game is just brilliant creating an infinite cycle of getting into The Game and losing once you realize that you're in The Game. A lot of people may say that The Game is dumb and stupid, but you gotta admit, it's impressive that such a simple concept managed to infect and reside in the minds of millions of people. There's a Wikipedia article and a few videos about this, so I highly recommend that you check them out if you're really interested. *NOTE: The Game does have quite a few variations, but the 3 rules usually apply regardless of what version you're playing
NOTE: It is IMPOSSIBLE to win The Game. You already have the knowledge that The Game exists, so if you think that you've won The Game, you ended up thinking about The Game anyway, which in turn makes you lose. That isn't really the point of The Game anyway. Also this isn't my idea, this is just a really cool thing I discovered.
