Flurry found the RainWing, around 16 years old who was terrified "Wait it's ok. Gecko's going to release you." Flurry said smiling warmly. She hesitated before following him. Gecko was waiting. "It's ok 15. It's time for you to leave" Gecko said walking over. She smiled happily. Before either could react Gecko clamped Flurry into the chair. 15 frowned confused "This is my boss. The one who made me do to you what I have. Have at him." He told her. She smiled cruely. Flurry tried to thrash "wait no! I swear I'm not!" Flurry begged for his life. 15 approached him when suddenly Gecko grabbed her by her throat, stabbing a syringe into her chest. Flurry watched. At first she only squirmed, whimpering a bit. Then it got worse. Soon she began to scream, thrashing in pure anguish. Blood poured from between her scales, from her mouths, nose, eyes, any exit till her eyes rolled back in her head and she fell limp. "You wanted them released? That's release. You sure you want that?" Gecko asked. Flurry could only manage short, horrified gasps for air. He had just brought her to death while giving her false hope. Probably one of the worst deaths he'd seen. "Now go get 14 and I'll release it too. Unless you think the torture they face each day is better than death?" Gecko asked. Flurry hesitated before going to cell 14. "Gecko said he'll release you but it's not back to Phyrria, it's death. A bad one too. Which would you rather? Stay or die?" Flurry asked. 14, a roughly 10 year old SeaWing hesitated "Death. Every day is awful here. Release, even killed is better than this." He answered. "Just find a way to tell Coral, my mother, I'm not coming back. Don't tell her why though. It'll ruin her." He said. Flurry nodded. "I'll try." He promised. One by one each dragon chose release. Flurry could only watch as their bodies piled up, blood oozing from between scales, mouths, noses, every exit the red liquid could find. Till he got to Shadow. Flurry trembled he tried to speak but couldn't. Not because he had lost his voice but because he couldn't tell Shadow what he had agreed to. "Shadow" he finally choked out. "I'm so, so sorry for anything you're mad at me for. But please. Just know I never stopped loving you. I never will. I may be eternally bound to life, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm also bound to you." Flurry said. Shadow sat up a bit. "You're still cursed? Gecko lied to me. He had me promise to act like I loathed you so he'd save you from that poison. Flurry I never hated you. No matter what anyone else has said, I love you still." Shadow smiled. Flurry smiled too. "Gecko is offering release but it's not to freedom, it's death, all the others chose it. That tells me how much of a monster he really is that 14 dragons chose death over staying with him." Flurry shuddered. Shadow nodded "I'm staying here. I don't care what he does." Shadow said standing. "In that case." A voice said. Shadow's face dropped in horror as Gecko appeared, stabbing a syringe into Flurry's head. Flurry snarled before collapsing. Gecko looked at Shadow, holding another syringe. "You're next." He smiled. Gecko lunged at Shadow, wrestling with him for a second before managing to stab his side. He fell unconscious quickly after.
