~CHAPTER SIX~ It turns out Arden wasn't a crazy maniac. If I could tell Tsunami I met a kind stranger, I would. That wouldn't be of much use to me of course. She'd just argue back and lecture me. It was fun though knowing she was wrong for once. We walked through the town and I took in all the details. The way the buildings stood next to each other, the people, the smells, I had never seen anything like it! " This is the marketplace, you know where people go shopping" Arden gestured to the bustling shops, " I- I don't like crowds, " I stammered. That wasn't true. but it had to be. Coral and Hazel were somewhere in there, and if they found me... He sensed my anxiety and waved it off. " Ah, okay, that's fine maybe another day. I do want to show you another place, bet you'll like it there!" Another day? My heart fluttered with hope. Only if Hazel can make me a few more of the solution, no it must be hard for her to make them, that's why the tube was so small. I forced a smile, "Yes, maybe another day, let's see that other place you were talking about." Arden led me across the town, my heart beat faster, Coral could be anywhere. I ran up to Arden, trying to blend in. We ended up in a building, relief flooded over me as I scanned the room, we were safe. " Welcome to Harmonica's café! This place has the best donuts. EVER." Arden stepped behind the register and grabbed a donut. I laughed and then realized what he was doing. " wait, Arden, you can't just steal donuts!" I cried. Arden proceeded to stuff donuts in his face. "Donth wolly, my sither runths this plath." Mildly disgusted, I took a seat on one of the regular tables. " So, do you like work here?" I tried to start a conversation. " Yeah, I was supposed to be here about fifteen minutes ago but you know, handling customers gets boring, so I took a little stroll." he dusted his hands off and took a seat next to me. I had a weird feeling. It wasn't bad at all. He leaned in closer, and for some reason my heart pumped a little faster. "You know, if you see my sister, tell her that I was here the whole time, kay?" How ironic was that, we were both hiding from our sisters. "Of course I won't! I can't get my new friend in trouble." Oh no. I just called him my friend. We barely even knew each other for an hour. I bit my lip. Would he think I'm strange? Does he suspect that I'm not human? "Glad you consider us friends Orca," he said. Warmth flooded into me. I had made a friend. I was walking. Today was a day of miracles.
