Chapter 1 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Astoria's going to be sorted! I swear, if she doesn't get Slytherin, Mum's going to disown her," I whisper to Autumn. "Hm. Are you hoping she's the one who marries Malfoy? Or do you hope Daphne or Celeste does so you don't have to?" She asks. "Well, I think-" "Greengrass, Astoria!" Professor McGonagall reads. Astoria, the only dark-haired female of the Greengrass family, walks up to the stool, and places the Sorting Hat upon her head. And we wait. One minute... Two... 180 seconds... By the time it's four minutes, I whisper back, "I hope it's Daphne, because she deserves that brat. Cel's too old and mature for him, and I hate him. It would be unfair to make Astoria marry someone so... unpleasant." Four and a half minutes... "SLYTHERIN!" Astoria grins and runs towards me, and I hug her. "What took it so long?" I ask lightly. "It was seriously considering Ravenclaw," she replies, "shocking, isn't it? And I thought I was going to be disowned!" She sits down next to me, and I introduce her to Autumn. Autumn nods and smiles, and Astoria waves shyly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Hey, Audrey?" A voice asks me. I'm in the common room with Autumn, and she looks at me, but she didn't speak. "Hm? What?" I ask, turning around. Ugh, it's Draco Malfoy. "Can I speak to you... alone?" He asks, glancing at Autumn. Autumn looks at me, then shrugs. "See you in our dorm," she says, walking towards the stairs. The common room is practically empty, but still loud enough so we won't be overheard. "What she think?" He asks me. I frown, confused. "About what?" "Me." Oh. Just- oh. Oh, boy, this is going great. "I'm not a Legilimens," I reply instead. "I know that. But you're her friend." Ugh. This is sooo unromantic. Not that I know anything about romance. "She... doesn't like you in that way, if you're wondering. Not even like... " I stop right there. Purebloods marry purebloods, right? I should keep talking. Push him away from her. "Not even like a classmate." I say simply. He frowns, then walks away. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Sooo... how did your conversation with Draco Malfoy the I-Think-I'm-So-Superior go?" I should tell her. But I also shouldn't. What she doesn't know won't hurt her. Not more than if she knows. "Boring. He asked if Daphne had a crush on him." I lie, and my cheeks feel hot. "Huh. Do you?" "Yes. I mean she and Pansy hang out a lot, and I'm pretty sure that whole friend group does." I mimick gagging. Autumn laughs. "Good night, Audrey." "Good night, Fall." I mumble. "Um, who's Fall?" Autumn demands. "I meant Autumn. Autumn." "You were going to call me a season?!" Autumn exclaims, "How dare you!" We both start laughing. "Good night," I say. "Good night, indeed," she responds, before going to sleep. Tomorrow, I'll tell her.
So, I decided that doing the same year at the same time as my bestie was too... boring. We're too dependent of each other. That's why I'm doing the second year. (Also because it's more interesting. Sorry, bestie!) Enjoy! :) ~Audrey Greengrass Thanks to: @Autumn-E-West for Autumn @slytherin_fangirl for Celeste Ugh- Draco Malfoy! *Evil grin on face.* #Drautumn/Autumn Malfoy
