1. Start with a sketch to outline your ideas. When I do 2 characters, I use different colors to separate them. I always use colors for sketches anyways 2. For lineart, lower the sketch's opacity and trace over it on a new layer. A custom brush I found online is what I've been using, but Monoline works too. Colored lineart looks WAY better than black lineart. 3. Move on to flat, unshaded coloring, which is my favorite part! 4. Add shading and highlights. Always use colored shading and highlights! Black and white look terrible. Do the shading on a different layer set to multiply, with the opacity lowered. 5. Finish with a background and a watermark. I make the background complex to protect the watermark! I usually only put the watermark on pieces I don't want stolen.
