chapter 2 - maeve rivera The light is blinding. The silence is deafening. My voice booming out across the auditorium as I’m giving my valedictorian speech. It’s hard to believe that I’m finally here, that all my work paid off. Except I’m not there. I’m sitting at my desk in 3rd period chemistry. Two months into my senior year. It’s not like me to daydream during class, especially during my worst subject. If I’m being honest here, chemistry svcks. The only thing that makes it interesting is- Suddenly, the door slams open and Andie Price steps into the room. A shiver runs through my body as our eyes meet. Her blue eyes icy as they scan me from head to toe. Her lip quirks up, eyes twinkling. Amused huh? I wonder what thoughts run through her head under the mass of wavy, blond tresses. “Late again are we, Miss Price?” Mr. Delaney crosses his arms and raises an eyebrow. “Maybe,” Andie slides into her seat, “or maybe not.” She holds out a soft pink slip, smiling sweetly. Mr. Delaney sighs, and takes the paper. As Mr. Delaney restarts the lesson, I see a movement out of the corner of my eye. It’s Andie. Of course it's Andie. I turn my head and see her shrug on a leather jacket and throw her hair up into a messy bun. Huh, not really what I imagined her style as. But I have to admit, she looks hot. @ivory-sxge
