This type of round is very similar to a HEAT. Instead of an explosive to push the molten slag, it uses a nuclear blast. When the sensors touch the armor, it sends an electric signal to the explosive charge, pushing the uranium pieces against each other. Once that occurs, a fission reaction will instantly take place. The sudden high pressure inside pushes the osmium slag out at temperatures of around 5-10 million degrees Celsius. The molten slag ejects out of the tube and blasts through the armor like a water jet. Since temperatures are so intense, it burns through everything behind the armor and around it.
