Arnorian soldiers have finally made contact with some Sogranist paramilitary branches, 45 miles west of Sheton. The force was a small detachment who were based in a small town. The situation quickly escalated though, when they started to occupy civilian positions. Arnorians were very reluctant to use their artillery, and started to demand civilians leave, screening them on their way out. A major firefight broke out in front of the towns small market, leaving four Sogranists and two Arnorians dead, and another five Sogranists and four Arnorians wounded. Arnorian squads moved house to house, checking civilians and screening them and their properties for Sogranist activity. At the end of the day, the Arnorians fully established themselves in the town, and the civilians are being treated well. The Sogranists are sporadically attacking Arnorians and civilians, often from sniper positions, leaving behind a disproportionate amount of casualties. Fear is setting in; the Sogranists were terrorists, and they will fight dirty. They were not an organized government, but rather a collection of barbaric warriors who lead by fear and kill with joy. The Arnorian military is reevaluating their military doctrine for usage against terrorist forces, not wanting to harm their Shathean brothers and sisters, and the forces are seemingly reluctant to engage in action after the events on this day. However, reports are indicating a higher than expected Sogranist members who are startlingly well equipped . Investigations are being conducted to discover if an outside force is at play here, and anti-insurgent operations continue. Meanwhile, military forces are attempting to boost morale and support from the Civilian population in the midst of these troubling times. After action report, day 1: 43 Arnorians wounded, 17 Arnorians killed. 16 Sogranists wounded, 12 Sogranists killed. 43 Civilians wounded, 24 Civilians killed.
