D1gg1ng deep into the very souls of his employees. This was fun. Getting to make use of his sarcastic humor and watch as his employees suffered to make use of their own brains. This was almost like "Eureka! I got it!". But in simpler words it was a chance for him to test them. And he loved testing them. And threatening them with their jobs looming over their heads, well it was just extremely fun. To be exact Chite was your usual and unusual man who took pleasure in recruiting 10 employees every year and slowly, slowly remove each one of them in each monthly evaluation that counted as the sixth and the twelfth month of the year. This way in five years he was without any employees, and he could renew his pleading to Veronica for a new chance to interview the candidates all for his enjoyment. And this was only feeding into his ego watching the others complain of how clueless they were. "Come on already." He sighed, watching the three fumble around. He turned to face the house that was similar to a manor and walked up those three steps, with great difficulty. But still, he managed to do it. This only showed that time could make someone stronger. He pulled out a lovely branch from his inside his belt pouch, which was around 13 inched long and looked like a branch of a Silver Flower tree. The entire wood was a lovely pale brown with veins of silver flowing through the branch, pulsating with untamed magic. Raw magic. His magic. He tapped it in his other arm, and that branch emitted a light magic that covered the entire branch itself, and soon enough he wasn't holding a branch but his famed staff. The staff with which he had implemented the ministry ten years ago. Long, and sturdy, with the rough edges, the pale brown wood still presented the veins of silver flowing magic that was akin to only Chite. Here and there bloomed clusters of those silver flowers, and buds like fruits born due to his excessive care to his staff. After all, a branch pulsating with life was enough to be cared for. And even someone like Chite could ensure to make the branch well treated for. Around as long as his shoulder, the staff stood well on its base, in a slender curve, with a single vine of gold curling around it, until that vine melted into the branch, which was at the top curved into a hook shape similar to that of a candy cane. Now at the tip of the curve were lovely leave like clusters which were silver with gold veins. And the best part about his staff was that only his staff could produce these flowers. After all, the Silver flower trees had all been wiped out of existence all because of a single man's fault. He then tapped the door, which created a strong reaction of silver and gold particles of magic flowing away, with the magic that pushed those particles away like a strong gust of wind. And from deep within the house one could hear the shriek of a woman, crying in pain. A very loud shrill voice, screaming to be freed. "FREE ME! AHGH- FREE ME!" Sobbing silently, hints of despair and loneliness could be heard. But the magic of Otiene's soon silenced the noise. He turned to face the three employees who looked amazed. They had their own staffs yes, but none could match that of Chite's. Nor could they match the level of Chite's knowledge. But that was the point wasn't it? To be able to learn more from Chite before they were fired? "Wow..." Hemat mumbled, staring at him. "It's the door, isn't it? It is...a- a- an ancient rune. The wood." "Cha ching! Ten points to Hemat! Well, it seems you are finally using your brain and not sloozing around waiting for someone else to do your work. I appreciate that. Who would like to tell me what this wood is?" Hemat frowned a bit, but shook his head. This was Chite. Who was he kidding. Getting so many words out of Chite even if unusually sarcastic was some form of praise. "Elder wood?" "Wrong. Just because you are right once does not mean you are right always." "Jaden Wood?" Prehni squeaked. "Wrong again. Maybe I should have you all study the botany book again. What was it called? Right the Book on Magical Plants of the World." Turine sighed at Chite's remarks before finally speaking. "It is a hybrid plant. Or tree. Elder wood certainly. But somewhere along it has genes of Redwood and Cherry." "Cha ching! 20 points to Turine" "Hey- You didn't give me that many points-" "Because you aren't pretty. Anyways." The three employees rolled their eyes. Even if he complimented the girls, they all knew he was straight out in love with boys. Not that any of them would admit that. Or claim that he should stop snogging and fighting with Ian. "This here is one of his special creations. Probably someone he knew was sealed within this house.
Continued: This door is definitely a hybrid tree, for the sturdy wood is elder, but the colour is that of redwood, and the marks and texture is like that of Cherry. More over his magic. Lanterion. It was a special kind of magic. It had the capabilities to create a nauseated feelings amongst peers and bring despair to them. However the most important part of his power was the splitting of colours and images. That is exactly why all of us thought that the world was splitting into red blue green yellow, whatever colours you saw. All because his power could create a lighted illusion of hallucination. But what made it even more interesting was that he could use this very spell of Lanterion to seal people within places, to stop time for ages to come. You see how the circles are placed there?" He lifted his arm up, so that the staff was touching the circle paned at the top of the door. "What do you think this looks like?" Prehni's eyes widened. So did Hemat's. But the one got first to speaking was Turine. "He carved it. A magic circle. AN ancient rune spell. Using the wood. And imbued it with his magic! Wow..." "Exactly. Correct. Otiene was known for doing unusual magic all around the place. And he was a great maker. A wood carver. And this my dear folks is nothing but a rune." "So what, we break the door? Then everything will be fine?" "No you fool, if we break the door, then whatever is inside will come out." "Or it won't. Maybe whatever is inside won't come out at all!" "Really Hemat?" "Or Prehni, and Hemat are wrong. Whatever is inside is probably stuck inside a room. But it can walk around the house if the rune is broken." "Three solutions. What could it possibly be?" Chite grimaced, staring at the three who had given him three possible outcomes. But he was Chite. Fight first, flight later. "Prehni, get everyone around this lane to evacuate. Cast a magic barrier and ensure that no one can walk into this lane for around 36 hours. Turine, get your staff out. And cast the undoing spell of the rune. You know how to figure those out I suspect. And Hemat and I will work on going inside the house." "The ancient rune can't be broken?" "No. Otiene, even if he is long d23d, he knew his way around his magic. And he knew quite the special ancient runes. That was part of his creativity. That was part of who he was. He knew how to make irreversible ancient runes, which he learned from the tenth apostle. It is a pity he only learned that much from the tenth apostle. Had he spent a bit more of time to learn more magic from others, I would have known more about this magic. But then again, he was too interested in fame. That was exactly why he was Otieno. A foolish man who worked on whims." "Sounds like someone." Mumbled Hemat, rolling his eyes, as Turine hid a grin. Chite who had heard it chose to ignore that comment, watching as Prehni was already off, ushering others away. Prehni was successfully scaring everyone away claiming this lane had a health hazard going on and that they were from the department of magical health hazards, and that the health hazards could cause ugly rose shaped marks on someone's body and even if they could heal it, the scars wouldn't disappear and the affected would be left with no b0nes. One could definitely applaud how fast Prehni's brain worked in cases like these. Therefore, it was helpful to have someone who had the emotional capacity of a puppy. Prehni pulled out her wand, a odd deep blue branch like the ocean waters when seen underwater, with odd white veins of magic pulsating through it. Tapping it on her other hand, the branch turned into a lovely staff. Long and twisting, the branch had now turned into three branches which had twisted together to form a crooked king of staff that at the top branched into five different branches, with hanging round shaped white fruits from them. At least they looked like fruits at first sight, but they were actually magic crystals formed from her excess of magic. The white veins of her staff had spread from the staff to her hand to her wrist, with her palm having completely turned white and the wrist showing vein like patterns. She was busy casting the protection barrier, and holding it in place. Five circles of magic with her personal ancient inscription scattered around the place, creating a barrier. Meanwhile, as Chite familiarised the Hemat with the precautions of being inside a hundred year old musty house locked up by an ancient rune created by a notorious and berserk apostle of god, Turine was already busy observing the door, with her shrewd eyes, picking at the very tiny carvings of words on the wall. Now wearing her eye glasses, she stared as the magnified words revealed to her words of ancient runes, magic filled words that one could noticed pulsating. Her grip on her pendent strong because the nauseating feeling was growing stronger the closer she got. And unlike Chite she wasn't used to such power. She grimaced.
