Thursday, February 8th, 1910 Sensitivity warning, discretion advised. It was morning, 0715. A squad of seven soldiers was out on patrol near to the Sogranist pockets in the West. It was a routine patrol. Nothing was supposed to happen. The seven men had started their return, when fifty Sogranists jumped out at them. The men, all Arnorians, were immobilized without firing a shot, all seven captured by the Sogranists. A second patrol was sent out to look for them. They were lucky: four got away when the Sogranists try to capture them, the other three killed. The Arnorian forces were mobilized to attack the Sogranist position. As they neared, they were harried by snipers; their artillery was in no position to provide support. Some groups were caught in primitive minefields: they were maimed or left to bleed out. The rest of the group continued their advance. They were not prepared. Those fifty Sogranists had gotten behind the Arnorians position. Fourteen Arnorians were dead before anyone knew what was happening. Another 246 Arnorians would be killed, out of a total of 500, when the fifty Sogranists (reinforced by another 50 quickly in the firefight) were finally beaten down. 112 were injured, and another 43 were missing. Meanwhile... The seven captured Arnorians were lead to an unknown location. They were searched and shackled. One by one, they were taken to interrogation and brutally tortured by the Sogranists. Not a single one let out any sensitive information, gods bless them. All seven were killed one by one in a horrific fashion, the final one being the leader of the group, forced to look on as his brothers and sisters died in front of him. His last words: "I accept death, for I will go to the great battlefield and fight the Great Chaos alongside my comrades, for I will fight you and Sogran, and I will get the final blow, not you." Their remains were fed to starving dogs, their bones destroyed, and their personal items sent to the Arnorians on display as a message, a message that would invite fear in all the soldiers, greenhorns and veterans. Many question this fight, others embrace it as defeating a nessecary evil, still others start to believe that all of Shathea must be razed to remove all possibilities of Sogranists rising up again.
