Imagine graphing votes so that Choice 1 is on the X axis and Choice 2 is on the Y axis. With most voting systems, you can effectively point your vote either directly toward Choice 1 or directly toward Choice 2. But what if you could point your vote in any direction? For example, you could point it directly away from Choice Y, or you could choose in between X and Y, giving about 0.7 votes to each. This idea gets more interesting when you have more than two choices. This project shows an example of how this would work. Slide the sliders to set your vote. The circle at the right shows the first two choices: Right is for Choice 1, Left is against Choice 1, Up is for Choice 2, and Down is against Choice 2. The other three choices are not shown because I don't see a good way of drawing a 5 dimensional sphere. What do you think of this idea? What benefits would it have? What problems? Please comment!
