This dueling card game for 2 players (adapted for digital offline use with one device) gives you the thrill in deck-building, forming strategies, & optimizing the uses of limited turns. NOTICE: SORRY, THE SHUFFLING FUNCTION BROKE AFTER AN UPDATE... << DECK-BUILDING >> Your deck of 30 to 40 cards may contain up to... - 1 epic (darker gold) card (out of 4 types) - 1 rare (lighter gold) card per type (out of 17 types) - 3 common (silver) cards per type (out of 23 types) << GAME VOCABULARY >> - Hand: the card(s) in a player’s hand, not visible to opponents. - Field: the space where up to TWO cards can be placed per player for completing actions. - Attributes: one or more of the six personalities, indicated by the letter(s) at the top left of the card. - Point: essentially the player’s own health points. << SETUP & GAME START >> 1. Deal each player 5 point-markers. 2. Shuffle your own deck & place to the side. 3. Draw 3 cards from your deck. 4. Randomly decide the turn order, then the first player begins their turn. << DURING YOUR TURN >> 1. Draw 1 card from your deck (if any remaining) into your hand. 2. (optional) Choose ONE card to either… - place the card on the field. - retreat the card out of the field (player loses 1 point). - attack/heal/draw using the attached attributes (if criteria in Player Points rules below are met), optionally until all attributes are used up (which means those cards go to the discard pile). 3. Attach and/or detach an unlimited number of attributes (from your hand) to characters in the field. << PLAYER POINTS >> - Attacking: for infield cards with negative signs, that value can be dealt to an opponent card/player only if the number of attributes attached are enough to defeat at least one of the opponent’s cards in the field. If and only if the opponent has 2 infield cards and you defeat 1 of those, the opponent must give 1pt to you. - Losing points: all remaining attack values after an opponent defeats both of your infield cards (if any in place) are dealt directly to you. You lose that remaining value of points and must give those point markers to the opponent. All of your defeated cards are discarded, and any attached attributes return to hand. - Gaining points: using the “healing” cards in the field, add the indicated positive value to your points (& if in a 2-player, do so by taking away point markers from your opponent). - Extra draws: gain extra cards using the “+# A”cards in the field and drawing the indicated number of cards from your deck. << GAME ENDING >> If a player loses all of their points or else when any player has no more possible actions left (cannot draw, place, attach, nor attack/heal) at the start of their turn, the game ends. The player with the most points wins (or end in a tie occasionally). << Starter Decks of 30 & Card Packs of 5 >> Starter decks have a randomly generated variety of cards (0%/Epic type; 12.5%/Rare type; 50% for 1, 25% for 2, or 12.5% for 3 Commons/type). Use the deck at first, but open randomized 5-card packs over time to build and customize them to your preference. The packs will always contain at least 3 common cards, 1 epic or rare, and another chance for a rare. Note that you cannot keep extra cards that are not part of your deck after closing the packs. Essentially, you need to 'switch out' cards you already had with the new ones from the pack; not keeping both in deck. << Overall Cards Info >> There are 6 different personality attributes in the Holland Hexagon: Doer, Helper, Organizer, Persuader, Thinker, & Creator. In this game, there are 6 cards with each of these attributes, including 1 double-attribute card each. In addition, there are 7 combination (yellowish-brown) cards (which are special cards that consist of two different attributes) and a common ‘Any’ wildcard (named “Thistley”).
