Concept art, honestly some are really pretty lol 8. Fullbody! Very cutesy and demure Bio; Name- Marina (mae, rina) Gender- female, she/her Seafolk March 2nd Siren curse; passed down through moms side of the family usually only once every other generation Amulet she wears is a one of a kind and can protect whoever wears it by holding back the curse (lmao this is kinda cringe) Backstory: (goofy ahh) Ch1. Marina’s tails waved behind her as she trotted into the shallow water, splashing droplets everywhere. She held a waterproof basket in hand, filled with tropical fruits from the shop on the island. She was heading towards the village and dunked her head underwater, taking a gasp of air. Under the turquoise sea, a clear image of ocean villages made of clay and stone, surrounded by aquatic life growing out the ground was set in her gaze. She swam towards her village, kicking her feet through the water to traverse the ocean. As she made it to the red terracotta paths, other seafolk crowded the area, yapping like usual. Weaseling through the crowds, she finally made it to a less crowded area; the neighborhoods. She finally made it to her house, surrounded with kelp that her mother had intentionally overgrown, topped with sea flowers on top of the roof. Bursting through the door, she yelled for her mom. “Mom! I’ve got the fruits!” Peeking her head out from the kitchen, her mom motioned for her to come closer; “before the soup burns!” The seafolk homes were strangely filled with normal air, making it easy to cook. Walking to the tiled kitchen, Marina handed her ma the basket and leaned on the counter, daydreaming and just thinking. As her ma chopped up the fruits, she began to converse with Mae. “Did you hear about your new cousin?” She asked nonchalantly. With a confused look, Marina thought hard. What aunt or uncle did she even have? “No, whose family member is it?” Her mom looked over, and raised her eyebrows. “Auntie Stephanie.” Oh. Right. Her estranged aunt. “What’s the baby’s name?” “Annie. Thank goodness she won’t have the curse, since you have it!” Her mom’s words stang, even though they weren’t intended to. The family curse was on her moms side of the family and only appeared once every other generation, and Marina just happened to be the /oh so lucky/ one to get it! The curse was basically becoming a siren like creature by night, while also becoming hostile and dangerous to their kind. So, Marina wore an amulet to hold back the curse. The problem was, there was only one magic amulet, because clearly whoever made it was not the brightest. So, when the next Siren was born, the seafolk had no remorse with killing the previous Siren for the amulet! So kind! “Yeah, that’s pretty hopeful.” She replied in a bored tone. “I’m going to go to my room if that’s okay.” Before she could go up the stairs, the phone rang, and her mom went to pick it up as a mortified look made Marina’s heart drop. “What?!” Art by me Music is aria math by c814
