♡ hello! this is my entry for Cotton Candy Angel! Don't mind my slight change in art style, I'm experimenting with coloring. Also, sorry in advance for the million page essay haha ♡ ~+* bio +*~ ♡ name: sugar rush (circus name), later known as wish ♡ age: 19 ♡ occupation: circus performer ♡ personality: sweet, energetic, jumpy, timid but has learned to bottle it up and put on an outgoing persona ♡ likes: sweets, fruit flavored soda, space, ♡ dislikes: popcorn, the dark, big scary animals, spiders (I know this next part is similar to another one of my OCs but that's on purpose, let me coook) ~*+ backstory +*~ Sugar Rush had been a part of the Candy Cannon Circus for as long as she could remember. From the beginning of her memory, she'd seen nothing but saturated patterened walls, brightly colored tents, and giant candy-shaped statues. The circus traveled through magic, so they never needed to take it down and put it back up. Nearly every day, she did the same thing: dance on stage while twirling lollipop batons, sell cotton candy to little kittens, and eat the same three meals of candy, funnel cakes, and popcorn. She was sick of it. But what choice did she have? She didn't dare dream of anything else, because what else was there? But she knew the flocks of people going in and out of the circus had to have come from somewhere. She knew she was going to find out where. One day, she broke out of her assigned room and climbed the surrounding walls of the circus. The black night sky, lit with only a few tiny stars and the dim moon, vanished in an instant as she stepped outside the perimeter. The world opened up to a deep violet-to-blue canvas, patterned with sparkling pink and blue stars and planets and a bright, glowing moon. Sugar Rush felt the cool breeze pleasantly ruffle her fur and almost pass through her. Looking down, her glittering paws illuminated the unusual green hay-like floor beneath them. Glittering? The magic barrier of the circus concealed so much. Was this why she was never allowed outside? Her awed reverie was broken by shouts, calling her name. She had been discovered as missing. It took only a beat for her to make her decision - she was not going back. A tentative few steps turned into frantic running. Soaring across plains of green, she ran as fast as she could. She didn't know where she was going, she didn't register how she ended up so close to those stars so familiar, but she knew it was where she wanted to be. ♡ Summary, clarification, and extra info ♡ Sugar Rush spawned into a magic circus but wanted to leave. She snuck out and discovered that it was concealing the entire outside world to those within. So, she ran away. I think I might have explained it in a confusing way, but she's made partly of stardust like my other oc, Altaira. This is because she's also a shooting star. At the end when she was running away, she turned back into one and kapow'd all the way across the galaxy. I'm thinking that later she could meet my other ocs, Altaira and Estella, who would give her the name Wish. They could go on adventures together and figure out the mysteries of the universe! I'm working on fleshing out a story with the two of them, and I think she might fit in really well. But that's still to be determined ♡ notes ♡ ~*+ I changed the ear jewelry just a little bit, simply because I forgot that I was going to add it while I drew the ears and didn't want to fix it haha ~*+ I made her eyelashes blue insteas of giving her the blue over her eyes, but I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. I might change it if I draw her again ~*+ I'm sorry that the swirlies aren't right, I'm still working on getting a drawing program I can use. I've been trying firealpaca, but my computer is struggling a little too much ~*+ Here are some parts of the design that I think fit in really well with the story! ♡ Her wings! In my story she's a shooting star, so she flies through the sky. The wings help her take flight, even though they're little. ♡ Her jewelry! She sings and dances as her gig, so it moves with her and adds to her appeal. Also, the jewelry on her back give a slight illusion of tangling her up in them, alluding to her being trapped in the circus. ♡ The swirling on her back! I think it looks kinda like a pastel/candy galaxy. I'm thinking that that's the remainder of her stardust when she is in her cat form. Her paws also fade into stardust, with little moons mixed in.
♡ art is by me, design is by @Millibean ! Music is No One Noticed by The Marías ! :D ♡ ~+* The first drawing has the three stages of my art process! I was originally going to just do the sketch and the final art, but I thought it was funny how much it changed, so I included the in-the-process too. ~+* The second drawing is from the story! It's a depiction of her first time stepping out of the circus and seeing the real night sky.
