The next morning, I woke up without sunshine on my face. I groggily peeked out the window and saw pouring rain. A slow smile spread across my face. This meant that I could practice my quidditch WITHOUT crowds of people gawking at me. I glanced at my clock and saw that it was 5:30! AM! Since classes didn't start for at least another hour, I decided to go outside. Plus, Saphire was playing in the rain, and I needed to get him inside. I tiptoed across my dorm room avoiding all of the creaky steps and slipped on my shoes. I cracked open the window and ducked under. " Impervious." I whispered as an umbrella appeared above my head. I looked around for Saphire as thunder boomed above me. There was a very loud boom and Saphire jumped up shivering into my arms. " Aww, did the thunder scare you?" I said in a baby voice as I scratched his ears. He started sniffing the air and crawled onto my shoulder. His eyes locked behind me with fear. I turned around and a lightning strike hit a huge tree... and it was falling right towards us! I froze in fear and tucked Saphire in my sweater. " PROTEGO..!" I yelled as a branch bounced off my shoulder and the shield appeared. The shield vibrated and I tried to hold it up. The shield cracked and fell like shattered glass. Everything seemed to be moving in slow motion. I knew that there was nothing I could do. Except... I jumped out of the way of the tree and rolled onto the grass. The huge tree hit the ground with a thump. I breathed a sigh of relief. I waved my hand to put out the fire on the tree. Saphire peeked out of my sweater and crawled up into my hair. I walked back to my window without the magical umbrella, so my hair and clothes were pretty much warped. I crawled into the window and closed it. I was still pretty shocked about what just happened. It was 6:00 and I needed to change and fix my hair. Saphire slept on my bed as I fixed my hair. I changed and decided to head off to class early. To my surprise, bunches of students were already up and chatting with their friends in the great hall. Jacob walked up to me and waved. It was kind of awkward because we haven't talked much since the dance. He kind of looked me and then he smiled. " You're up early." He laughed. " Nice observation detective!" I joked. " Let me guess, fire goddess stuff?" He said. My face turned red. We've never really talked about that. " Well... the usual." I said. What else was I supposed to say? " Well, you know Jacob. I'm so WIERD I was walking out in the rain and nearly got flattened by a TREE. But you know, that's THE USUAL for everyday!" " Yeah, well uh... I guess I'll see you later." " Sounds good..." I said. He waited there for a second, wanting me to continue the conversation, but he walked off. I heard a girl squeal, really loudly. Next thing I knew was every single student the Great Hall was crowding around me. They were screaming like there was one extra ticket to a sold-out Taylor Swift concert. " Amelia! Hi!" " Amelia your so cool!" " Can you set this on fire?" " I envy you Amelia!" AMELIA AMELIA AMELIA! I was so tired of that attention. I pulled out my wand. " Evanesco." I whispered. The students stopped yelling and looked around. Invisibility charm. Works every time. They shrugged and muttered "Oh well..." as they walked away. I ran to the library. I was done. I wished they could forget what happened at the dance, forever...
