~Trust Henry~ Henry was our Thoroughbred horse who was the first horse I rode. My mum purchased him back when she was a teenager from the market. He previously had been being trained to race, and sadly it had been from a very young age. When my mum got him he was not very well as his legs were weak and damaged. Fortunately, that didn't stop him from being a fantastic eventer. My mum gave him his event name of 'Trust Henry' and rode him for dressage, show jumping, cross country and in local racing events. However, sadly, while my mum was 19, Henry suffered from a one in a million chance accident when jumping a cross country oxer, where he chipped the distal phalanx bone in his hoof. After the accident he retired from eventing and was only used for light work. I rode him a lot as a child, but when I was 9 he was diagnosed with cancer which could not be operated on due to his age and we had to have him put to sleep. I miss him every day and I decided to base my race horse on him. I hope my entry is allowed :)
