Chapter 2 In the two weeks I've been down here in this maze I've been all over trying to find the entrance. I worry because the longer I'm gone the more opportunity a threat to the kingdom could take over. I hate this place with a passion since I don't have parchment I can't map this place out and keep track of where I've been. I'm practically a Cucco with its head chopped off at this point. I have no sense of direction and the more I wander the more I seem to get lost. I follow a path hoping maybe something will be different about this one when I stumble across metal. Metal? In the rock? I look and see that it is a door and old one at that. Inside I hear a voice, it sounds like a child's voice. I step closer to the door and it creaks open. I peer in and see a child behind bars talking to itself around the cell there are glowing glass vials and jars. Curious, I step into the room at the sound of my footsteps the child looks up and does something unexpected. It changes into a wolf but after that a rabbit and a chuchu. Startled I step back and the thing stops. It is now in a half Hylian and half Rito look, "Hello?" it says still having the voice of a young child. I cautiously step forward afraid to set it off again. I figure that the child/thing is a part of an experiment. How else could they have become like this? Unless it is from the old magic that possibly formed this place then that's the only explanation. "Are you here to help me? Oh I would love to get out of here. Do you know how long I've been here? I do. Can you guess?" The thing says, as I start looking around for the keys or anything that might free it. I think about breaking my vow of silence but I decide not, after all I am still a solider possibly one of the most important and until I either die in duty or resign with permission I will not allow myself to speak. Finally, I find a set of keys on a ring I try them to see which one works and an old brass, bone shaped one works. I step back allowing the thing to leave. "Oh thank you! Oh thank you dearly. I just don't know how I could ever repay you." I study it as it approaches wary of what might happen now but just as I deem that it may not pose a threat it says, "I know. I'll take your life. After all this hell-ish place of a land isn't worth living in." And it lunges at me morphing into a wolf, claws drawn ready to kill me. Quickly I draw my sword and deflect the thing, hurrying back to wait for the moment to attack. It lunges yet again and I stab at its side, after I dodge the attack. It lets out a whimper of pain and rears back. I prepare myself for another attack and when it comes, I am ready. I stab and slice, deflecting the attacks as necessary and then I am able to push it back and it flies into the tables sending glowing bottles everywhere. In that instant the thing dissolves from I'm guessing the mixture of the liquids into a vapor, it fills the room and I breathe some in. The smell is putrid and I rush out hoping nothing bad will come of this.
I'm sorry for the long wait for this chapter I've been busy and I didn't know the direction I wanted to take this chapter. Hope you enjoy! (I didn't intend for it to get this long but enjoy!)
