── ── ── ˖ ࣪౨ৎ˚₊ ── ── ── ᵉˡˢᶦᵉ ᶦˢ ᵗʸᵖᶦⁿᵍ… .✶⋆˚ writℰr questi♡ns ───────────────── 1) what got you interested in writing? i guess school? i remember always liking the writing assignments early on & always writing in a bunch of empty notebooks as a kid :) 2) did you always like writing? even though i liked it as a kid, sometimes i don't so much now, especially when i'm forced to do it for school :") 3) what is the story that has just been sitting around in your brain, waiting to come to life? is it just a vague idea that catches your heart, or is it already an elaborate story? well i've been writing a novel for 3+ years now, i finished the first draft in january but i haven't touched it since then :'/ it's at 41k words atm and is about life & just the universal human experience as i know it !! 4) what makes a story catch your heart? good characters or the emotion/catharsis the book has, many of my favorite books still stick in my mind bc of these 5) do you think that there's a pattern that all good stories follow, or are they all different? a lot of good stories have amazing endings & have characters i can identify w, though they're all objectively different in their own ways <3 6) did you ever cry over your own writing? laugh over it? shiver over it? yes - esp the last few chapters of my novel, like !! i don't really remember writing specific stuff but does it hit hard ... idk about the crying part though 7) what do you despise in stories? when it's really predictable or overhyped by a lot of people 8) what makes a story bad (in your opinion)? random plots, too-fast pacing, flat characters, romanticization of serious topics 9) which is more important in a story: emotional depth, or an interesting plot? emotional depth, as i usually won't care about a book if i don't care about the character 10) is there a specific thing your stories tend to center around? (ex: setting, personality of character, genre, etc) i guess general human issues & stuff that plagues our world that just trickles in. i usually write female characters in historical-inspired settings or fantasy realism, but tbh don't know anymore since i haven't really written a lot of short stories recently- 11) do you plan to become an author someday? i'm on track to finishing my book, so i'd hope so?? very ambitious considering my work ethic LOL 12) if so, how do you think authors can influence the world for good by their writing? authors can raise ideas and such that are important and garner awareness which can lead to action + inspire other authors !! 13) what are your favorite themes (morals or messages) in stories? redemption + hope + any big issue today/something we're often plagued with 14) what are the cliches you hate the most? any like grumpy x sunshine, black cat x golden retriever, sun x moon - it gives authors an excuse to reduce characters to just the trope names & i've read some really bad renditions.. 15) is there a way to make those cliches not so bad? do you think you could do it if you set out to try? i haven't tried this myself but definitely developing the characters w the tropes would help 16) what is the genre you hate the most? those "dark YA" novels that are actually just disgusting 17) what if you tried to write it? what would happen? well...i am! my novel is basically what the authors are *trying* to do but without using the serious topics for the generally disgusting reasons and putting them into direct reality, where it's not romanticized or downplayed (but not so intense that it's hard to read-) 18) what makes a character lovable? traits that aren't there for no reason & some relatable or at least identifiable traits that elicit empathy 19) is it possible for a non-lovable character to make you care deeply about them? yes - antagonists still are people w/ emotions & loves, despite their actions and their humanity can make me care about them !!
