CHAPTER 11: MORE ABOUT YOU Toucan began to wonder the halls, subconsciously searching for Nali. She spotted Quail and Jupiter sat on a bench, casually talking. She also noticed another skyarie (who she understood to be Raven) was approaching from the opposite direction. "Oh, hey Raven!" Quail said, turning to Raven. Raven returned a smile, and sat down next to the bench. They began talking and Jupiter soon joined into the conversation. Toucan didn't want to bother them, but she wanted to join in at the same time. "Toucan, it's fine. Go join them" she murmured, swatting at herself. "But they're busy!" she responded to herself. She continued to argue with herself until she noticed them looking at her. "Oh, um... hey..." Toucan stated nervously. "Hey Toucan!" Jupiter replied enthusiastically. "Would you like to join us?" She asked, continuing to look at Toucan hopefully. "Oh, sure!" Toucan replied, beginning to approach them. Raven briefly grimaced, but didn't fight against the idea. Toucan walked over and sat down on the other side of the bench. "Oh, hey! We were just talking about... er... what were we talking about again?" Quail rhetorically asked. "Oh, right. We were just talking about ourselves." Quail stated. He quicly shook his head before correcting himself. "Oh, no. Let me rephrase that- we were catching up with each other. Or, I guesss, all three of us." Quail finished. "Interesting. Well, tell me more about you! Or, you guys. You is directed at one person... so... y'all? Yeah! Tell me about y'allselves. That sounds weird. Whatever, you get- y'all get the point." Toucan awkwardly smiled. "Yeah. You can go first, Jupiter" Quail offered. "I already introduced myself, but I'll elaborate, I guess. I'm a peacock-griffin skyarie. I... yeah, I don't really know. I will be taking care of Sun'Sip, though, when she gets a bit older." Jupiter stated. She shifted her talons, which rustled the rest of her feathers near her legs. "I'll go next! I'm Raven- a crow-leopard skyarie. Pretty common, so I don't know why or how I'm here. Anywho, my cousin thinks I'm crazy and stuff... but I'm really not! I'm just reasonable." Raven concluded. "She IS crazy!" A voice shouted. "NO I'M NOT, MAVERICK." Raven spat back. "Oh, sorry about that. We're basically siblings, so, normal sibling bickering, ya know?" she grinned, hoping for sympathy. "Alright, next thing... I'm really good at handling weapons... I used to be one of the unfortunate skyaries... I'm really cool... and that should be all!" her grin widened. "Cool..." Toucan replied, filling the oncoming silence. "Well, I'm going to excuse myself. My- the skets probably need me. They're getting big though! Haha. You ladies talk with each other. Goodbye!" Quail said, lifting up. He flew swiftly towards his room's hallway before turning into another hallway. "Sit up here, Toucan." Jupiter offered as there was now an empty seat. "Oh, uh, yeah!" Toucan sat up swiftly, plopping down on the elevated bench. Raven gave a soft, almost inaudible, but noticeable snarl.
