History: Speaking Fire Guardian (SFG) is a fire alarm brand which was founded in January 1997. This brand is based in El Garcia, ST. In May 1997, they released their very first fire alarm devices which are: - SFG MPS G1: Conventional pull sation. - SFG PSD G1: Conventional photoelectric (optical) smoke detector. - SFG EHD G1: Conventional electronic heat detector. - SFG FACP G1: Conventional fire alarm control panel. Exists only in 4 zone version. - SFG FAAN G1: Conventional annunciator. - SFG VECP G1: Voice evacuation control panel. - SFG SPS G1: Conventional speaker strobe. - SFG SP G1: Conventional speaker. - SFG MTHS G1: Conventional multitone horn-strobe. - SFG MTH G1: Conventional multitone horn. - SFG STR G1: Conventional remote strobe. SFG only made these kinds of system up until January 2004 when they got taken over by Simplex and since then, they've been installing Simplex equipment with their brand name on them (But they kept the Simplex model names (TrueAlert, 4100U, 4100ES, etc...)). These pre-2004 fire alarm systems are very basic and ultra rare! The horns used are actually Fulleon Askari multitone sounders inside a red box which says "FIRE" on it. Also, the xenon strobes and the default voice evacuation message of the VECP G1 are made by Simplex* and the tones used comes from a Wheelock MT horn (Slow whoop then Code 3). And it turns out that the very early FireSweeper FA systems installed between 1998 and 2001 actually use these SFG VECP G1 panels, the newer ones however (2001 to 2007) use Simplex 4003 panels, then 4003EC panels (2007 to 2013) and the newest ones (2013 to present) use FireSweeper's own voice evac panels. Also, the pull station is a slightly modified conventional Simplex T-Bar and all of the notification devices + the pull station itself have a fire pictogram on them as well. Plus, the speaker's grille design reminds me of Federal Signal speakers. And just to give you an idea of how rare these older SFG fire alarm systems are, only 14 of them have been installed in total and just 30 VECP G1's were installed (14 were installed on SFG systems** and the 16 others were installed on FireSweeper systems). And now, there's just 1 pre-Simplex SFG system which is still in operation. This system was installed in January 2004 (Right before Simplex took SFG over) and it's located at a tiny elementary school which has no lifts. The PC's there are all Dell Latitude 7400's. Also, the school administration plans to replace the entire fire alarm system in March 2025 with a new SFG-branded Simplex 4100ES system with voice evacuation. The system shown in this project is from January 2004 as well. This system is actually the 2nd newest one cuz the date on the devices says "06 Jan. 2004" but the one in the school says "12 Jan. 2004" on the devices (They have installed 14 FA systems between 1997 and 2004 and they installed 2 systems every year. They installed these systems for roughly 7 years and 7*2 = 14, so that's why they installed 14 FA systems in total). * The VECP G1 default voice evac message is the message known as the "Do not run message" used on 4100 classic, 4100+ and 4100U panels. The strobes are the same as the mid-1990s 4904 series remote strobes. ** For some odd reason, every single pre-Simplex SFG system had a voice evac panel.
