_____________________________________________ _____________________________________________ _____________________________________________ Alderlake had been trying out her shift crystal, getting more used to it over time. It was quite the interesting little magic item, mostly anything was interesting to her- - talking to new cats, exploring new places, those were only a few hobbies she had liked doing. Xey had decided to climb a cliff near the sea, trying to hear the waves crashing against the rocks and the wind blowing more clearly. Xey continued climbing, digging those massive claws deep into the rock and hawling themself up one by one, paw after paw. Climb. Climb. Climb. Those were what the voices in her head were telling her. So she continued. One after the other, the more exhausted she began to get, what time was it anyways? She knew she had started in the morning, but the hot sunlight of the sun weighed down on her back. It was the afternoon? Gee, time flew by fast around here. Alderlake eventually hooked one paw over the ledge of the cliff, those big claws digging deep into the soft grass so she could get a good grip. Xey pulled themself up, listening to the moment's peace of the ocean crashing against the bottom-side of the cliff she was standing on. The ocean was quite a beautiful place, the sound of waves crashing against the rocks, the wind blowing the scents of salt, fish and even seacats through the wind. It certainly was a calming place, even if it could grant and take lives with it. Alderlake sat there, enjoying this moment of peace. Water was an important substance to everyone, it was home to many things and life forms. She thought of it to take her mind off things that were troubling her. Alderlake scraped those big CavernClan claws across the ground, settling herself down, letting the afternoon sunlight hit her back and face. There was a small ringing sound, at least in her mind, the crystal around her neck felt warm, more.. Unusual..? Alderlake held the crystal in a paw, sniffing at it slightly. Wait. If she had started in the morning, and it was the afternoon, it meant she had been climbing non-stop for hours on end. Alderlake realized her mistake, the crystal became warmer before it exploded into fragments of sharp shards. As if a strike of lightning had crashed into a forest, the force and pressure catching the They dug deep into her face and neck, forcing her back into a birdcat. The blue-feathered feline fell backwards, blue wings flailing as she struggled to get up, metallic taste and sent filling her mouth and the air. Alderlake began to tremble, not something she did quite often, but this.. This was different. Xey fell against the ground, thinking. How could she be so damn stupid? She knew full well the crystal couldn't handle going on and on for hours. Xey then thought of their family. Kili Wishdove and Wish Dove and Dove Jr. Evergreen Swanlight Duck Jade Bundle Magpiesong Goldfinch Ominousdreamer And her close friends, like Ladybugshine. Alderlake felt weak, weaker than before. Her chest rising and falling, slower and slower each turn. The grass felt nice on her back, the sun softly hitting her face. She had a moment's peace, even in death and pain. Alderlake took one last deep breath, wishing one last hope to her family. ‘Keep going’ "Its time to go, my little tree." That voice, the voice of Magpiesong was calling to her. It was truly time to go. Alderlake closed her teal eyes. It was truly peace. She was finally free. _____________________________________________
It honestly hurt my heart to let Alderlake go, she was such an awesome character and I'm glad a lot of people took a liking to her, I never expected a character, who I thought actually wouldn't get that much attention ended up being liked by a lot of people. TSS is honestly an awesome roleplay and I'm happy to be apart of it. Now its time for Neo >:D _____________________________________________
