The Book Wyrm, a now nearly extinct species, is an amphibian adapted to coastal sea life. Since it is cold-blooded, it needs to have a warm environment. Indonesia, with its many undersea volcanic vents, was a perfect habitat. Its diet was composed mainly of cellulose, the main ingredient of paper. This gave it the nickname Book Wyrm. The trees it ate were mainly mangrove, because they are some of the only trees that grow in salt water. It digested the wood by swallowing large quantities of sea water to help soften up the wood in its stomach. The main reason these creatures all but disappeared was the explosion of Krakatoa. The majority of Book Wyrms lived near there because of its volcanic vents. When Krakatoa exploded, it drove most of this wondrous species away. Their wings, which were previously used to propel them through the water, took on a new use: gliding. This helped them to spread out and find new habitats. This was good because their arms were underdeveloped and mainly vestigial. What became of the Book Wyrm? Most of them migrated to Florida, but some found other places. One of them joined a programming website. :) If you have any more questions, you can ask them on this project.
I hope you enjoy reading this, @b00k_w0rm! Sorry it's so pixellated.
