MarioKart 11 remix remix.zip released on October 29th, 2026 to overwhelmingly negative reception. Many critics disliked the loud and echoey remixes of previous games' music and the terrible character design. It also featured very few stages, and the ones that did exist were mostly bad. The game features fewer characters than its predecessors, but still has some notable appearances, including Luminant Leg Mario, Billy Joel, Ratituee, Joe Biden, and Lucille Bluth. The director of the game, Yoshiaki Koizumi, who no longer works at the company, said that most of the game's budget was spent on acquiring the license to these beloved characters. Its stages are mostly short remakes of classics from the series' past, but the new stages received generally positive attention. The new stages include fan-favorites like Superstar Speedway, Jerusalem Jaunt, Wario's Warzone, Peach's Celebratory Dessert, Ratituee Tunnel, Billy's Bar, Iraq, and The White House. It also birthed arguably the most hated track in the series, Pauline's Parallel Parking. The game sold very poorly and got negative reviews on launch, but today is considered a cult classic in the Mario Kart community. Fans of the series created a very popular mod, CTGP 11R, which adds new stages and characters, fixes many bugs and weird decisions, re-implements online multiplayer, and speeds up the process of parallel parking. Decades after the game's release, this mod has tens of thousands of monthly downloads.
