Adelaine Caddel~ I leave the soldier’s training hall, exhausted and drowning in my thoughts. A boy with a suit and tie told me that I would have to see the king. I don’t mind that I get to see him because he was like a father to me. He used to personally train me when I first found the kingdom. Now, I’m his toughest warrior. My anxiety heightens when I hear a dark voice coming from the shadows behind me. I turn around, meeting the gaze of blue eyes. His pale body laughs at my frizzled state. It’s the Crown Prince. “Well, well, well, if it isn’t Adelaine Caddel, my favorite soldier.” I continue walking, ignoring the prince’s comments. “Leave me alone, I’m going to see your father.” “Oh no. What did you do this time?” I turn around and smack him on his arm. He laughs and I continue walking until I meet the golden gates to the Throne room. I fiddle with my hands, a thing I do when I’m nervous. Sure, he’s like a dad to me but he is still king. I take a long, deep breath and open the doors. Inside was a large, circular opening with glittering, gold walls and diamond chandeliers. In the center was another soldier from my district. I remember her from training. She turns around and I see her eyes. Purple. What an odd color? When I first meet her, I wanted to comment on how beautiful they were. She left before I could but she’s standing there in the center. I walk next to her, everyone’s gaze on me. I lift my eyes and see the king. He gives me a sad smile, the one he used to give me every-time I had to do a mission. I wave and he nods and stands. He clears his throat, signaling silence. His voice is stern, not like the smile he gave me. “There has been traitors throughout our kingdom. It has brought great tragedies like lost supplies and even lost l!v3s. My two greatest warriors were taken out for a word and now the mission can commence. Audrey Rosewood and Adelaine Caddel. You two must find all who posses magic and capture them. You would be given horses, food, and the necessities you need. It will take a while but I know that you guys would do it best. I’m also allowing the Prince, Oliver Smith, to join this journey. You have three days to get ready and I advise you start packing today. Good luck and may good fortune come your way.
