Flurry blinked awake finding himself in a cell. There was a small window to one wall, he had a chain on his neck, it wasn't attached to the same wall as the window however. It went through it. He looked through the window and saw Shadow on the other end. Both their cells were open. Gecko walked in as both woke up. "In about 5 minutes the ceiling will drop, not just once but will lower and raise rapidly, crushing the victim. Which you two get to choose. The chain is long enough that if one of you goes outside the cell, the other cannot, he will be pinned to the wall as the roof ends him repeatedly. I feel this is an easy choice. Even so. It puts the guilt on you two." Gecko laughed before leaving, pressing a button. Flurry looked through the window. "Shadow. You know what I'm going to say." Flurry sighed "Yes yes. I know. It still feels wrong... Gecko's right about the guilt being on us." Shadow whimpered "Yes. He is. But don't feel bad. I'll be ok." He smiled. Shadow nodded and walked past the cell door. Flurry sat there at the other end, back pressed to the wall he just breathed, waiting for the crushing death Gecko told them about. Flurry heard a click and closed his eyes. The roof fell suddenly, dropping quick and hard. Flurry didn't have time to groan before it caved his head in, shattering bones and killing him instantly. The ceiling retreated before dropping again. Shadow watched in horror as Flurry was crushed then returned just in time for it to happen again. Flurry never screamed, he didn't have time to before it crushed his lungs into pancakes each time. An hour later Gecko returned and stopped it. Flurry curled up in anguish, whimpering as his eyes watered. "I've stopped the roof but you two can stay here for a while. Think about your choices." Gecko stared at Flurry for a long moment before turning and leaving. Shadow ran to the window "Flurry! I'm sorry I know it hurts. I-I can try and-" Flurry cut him off "Stop Shadow... Just... Just... Give me a second." Flurry rasped and Shadow did. "I know how you can escape Shadow." He rasped. Shadow shook his head "Not without you." He stated. "Yes without me... Even talking hurts right now... I won't be going anywhere... For a while." Flurry groaned. "I can carry you. We can get out together. Please Flurry." Shadow begged "No. I'll just slow you down... Besides you're here so he can control me... Despite what... I do next. Please.. just run." Flurry asked. Shadow nodded "I will. But I /will/ come back for you." Shadow promised. Flurry reached up and slammed a talon into the window, shattering it. Then he sat up weakly, grabbing a large shard he hesitated, taking a few deep breaths. Then Flurry shoved, quick and hard. The sharp, large piece of glass cut halfway through his neck. Shadow had to look away as Flurry finished and his head fell to the ground, body following. But his plan worked, the chain Shadow was attached to fell away from Flurry. Shadow ran, leash dragging but he made it out. Flurry curled up whimpering. Everything still felt like he was being crushed, and now his neck felt like it was still severed. He didn't care though. Shadow was free and now Gecko could only control him with his own pain. Gecko returned, finding the scene. He snarled, grabbing Flurry by the throat "What did you do?!" "Everything I could to save him from a monster like you." Flurry growled defiantly, spitting in his face. Gecko did a quick memory dive, just to hurt Flurry who screamed. "You've only managed to hurt yourself. Nothing else." Gecko smiled and threw Flurry into a cell. Flurry curled up whimpering quietly.
