"Miranda!" My best friend, Lilian yelled in a panic. A huge monster was advancing on me, growling. I almost laughed, this was going to be fun. I turned and ran before jumping, flipping in mid-air, my dark brown hair whipping out behind me, then landing on the beast's shoulder. "Lily, duck!" Lilian ducked and I considered throwing the beast to the ground but I paused. "Please stop." I muttered. The beast paused and I could understand it's growls. "I cannot." "Please forgive me then." I reply, shoving it to the ground. It started to glimmer and disappeared. I've always had luck with animals and hunting. "Mira..." Lilian gasps and pull my arm. "Mira we...have to go, now!" She and I start running and soon, we're standing near a beautiful tree. "Lily...what is this?" "Mira...your mother is a goddess." "Lily, what the heck?!" "Mira...welcome to camp half blood." My eyes widen as we pass the tree. Suddenly, everyone turns to me and gasp and point above my head. I look up to see a bow and arrow and moon. Suddenly, a half horse man comes and says, "What?! A child of...Artemis?" ------- Lilian explains everything to me and I'm shown to Cabin 8...my mom's cabin. Chiron comes with me when a glowing figure appears. A beautiful goddess. Artemis. My mother. She sighs and says, "What a beautiful girl..." She reaches out a brushes her fingers against my cheek. "I...I'm sorry, my dear Miranda. I should never had married...or had a kid. But I will give you this." She hands me the bow and arrow she is holding. "Please make yourself feel at home. No one else has ever been in this cabin...I will see you every sunset, as I am the goddess of the moon. I suppose I am the goddess of childbirth as well but I swore not to...but I love you...Mira." I smile faintly. "Thanks, mom...I...love you too."
