I know this feels childish, but trust me, this will help you in the long run. DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP IF THE DRAWINGS DON'T GO TO PLAN! 1. Practice drawing 3-D shapes. When you do this, you're practicing to see in 3-D. To see what the shape will look like in different angles, or view points...and different perspectives (eugh). This will also help you to see complex subjects like a car into simple shapes that are easy to draw. 2. Practice confidence As an (new) artist, you may feel uncertain about drawing to begin with. Have nothing to fear, little baby child! When drawing the shapes, just draw it in one go. no erasing, scratchy lines, or searching lines (when you draw multiple lines at once to find the lines you like). Just leave the sketch and move on to the next shape. When you're done with the shapes you have, draw them again as many times as you want and you will see improvement over time! 3. Exercises Draw multiple lines over one straight one: this will help you keep your lines from curving, or dropping off path like when you ink your drawing...trad artists are probably cringing rn after reading that sentence LOL Drawing circles: draw them the same size over and over again, to help with drawing circles themselves and consistent sizes. Drawing lines: Again, this is to help with consistency. Draw lines next to each other with sameish space in between each stroke. Then try crossing over them! (also called cross hatching). basically drawing the tic tac toe thing a lot lol.
