DISCLAIMER (please read before playing): This version is incomplete and will not contain every aspect from the original game. At the moment, only the tutorial is fully completed and most other features aren't usable. Over time I will update it and add more things to do, but some things will be impossible to recreate on Scratch, including many of the online multiplayer features from the original game. If there are any bugs in the game or you would like to give constructive criticism, please let me know immediately on my profile or in the comments (the comments would be preferred). Description: Welcome to Kart Kingdom! Originally a game on the PBS Kids website, Kart Kingdom was an online multiplayer game where you build your own character and kart, do quests, and race with friends, all in the PBS Kids art style. The game and its servers were retired on PBS Kids on October 1st 2020. As someone who played the game often before it shut down, I thought others in the Scratch community would want to re-experience the game. And seeing other recreations of Kart Kingdom on this platform, I decided to challenge myself and make my own. And yes you're reading it right: it took me over a year to have it ready for a release. That's mainly because I would be obsessed with adding stuff for maybe a week at a time before getting bored and moving on lol. I'm also in high school so towards the end of the school year I had to study for final exams. Over the summer I have a lot more free time so I will try to work on this more often. Controls: Arrows/WASD to move around Space bar/W/Up arrow to jump (more are to be added over time) Current features: - Player creation - Tutorial - Grand Glade movement and function (thats it for now) UPDATE LOG v0.1 - release v0.2 - addition of all avatar pieces
CREDITS: The music was found on other projects on Scratch Art is either pulled from the official art book of the game or recreated by me (tracing). All code is mine except for some of the player's physics code, got it from my 8th grade stem teacher lmao (love you mr santoro <3), but I obviously made adjustments to fit the game better
