So… TDF is going to cover some tricky topics (complicated families issues, blood, divorce, death etc) Of course I won’t be going deep into these topics, more of a Disney level ig (GravityFalls, TOH, Amphibia aged). Why am I doing this? Because it’s important and I think a good story needs some angst, needs conflict and can’t just be all sunshine and rainbows, even if this is on a kids website. Because that isn’t a good story, and I WANT to make good stories not slop. And another reason is, I want to bring light to these topics, to make people going through or have gone through these situations to know they aren’t alone, thats others go through this. And hopefully give them a character that they can relate to. Every time that I believe a serious topic comes up in a chapter I will of course be putting a warning/TW at the front because I understand that some people may get scared or find the mention of the topic triggering. Also these sort of topics are already covered in the Warriors Book series, infact the Warriors goes into worse if you know about SpottedLeaf’s Heart Will I keep it age appropriate? OF COURSE! I understand that scratch is a place for people 8 - 16 years old. So I’ll make sure that its fine. Although I’m not sure if BrushTail’s lore in the end will be appropriate for those under 9-10. But I do believe it should be and also it’ll only be a few panels and some dialogue. I’ll also be including LGBTQ+ representation in my series because I myself am queer and I create art to express myself, therefore I am going to express my sexuality and gender by including queer characters. As many of you have probably noticed TDF already has queer characters that have been introduced. (DappledStar & DeepHeart, SparkLeap and WelshNut, Brushtail, MossSight and WindWhisper, BlazeFire, BarkPaw, MothStar, BearKit and others) If you don’t support LGBTQ+, thats fine, that is your opinion which you are 100% entitled to. But please refrain from making homophobic or transphobic comments/art/theories about my comic. If it bothers you too much then you can always read another scratch comic, their are plenty that don’t involve LGBTQ+ Also it is not homophobic/transphobic to not know the gender or sexuality of a character and misgender or ship them with a character who they wouldn’t be sexually oriented to if the person doing it DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE CHARACTERS IDENTITY! Do not harass anyone if they make a mistake, politely correct them and explain. Also if you do see someone who is purposely being transphobic or homophobic, ignore them. If it’s really bad then report them or explain to them that I don’t allow that sort of behaviour on my profile or projects. I’ll be making 75 chapters, perhaps a lil less or more but around that number. Yes TDF will only have ONE arc unlike other series like TOPH, FitD etc. but thats because I ain’t motivated and I am busy and have school AND work. So please be patient with me!
