Read ALL of the story please, i worked hard on it.
Their Story: He was an alley cat living a carefree life in the streets. She was a little girl’s beloved pet….until the girl’s father got a job in another country. The family packed their things and left, leaving her behind. She convinced herself that it was a mistake and stubbornly followed after them. On her way she met a handsome male who feed her and gave her a place to rest. She stayed much longer than she intended to, but whenever his amber eyes fell on her, she was filled with unexplainable warmth. Finally she knew she had to leave, she said farewell and started on her way. By the time morning came, her heart ached so badly, she thought she was ill, but she continued on her way. She had been traveling for a week before a dream made her realize that he was the reason her heart ached…she turned around, forgetting all about the family she was chasing after. He was on his way to spend the night in his favorite dumpster when he spotted her, weakly trudging along the road. He turned his head in time to see the headlights heading straight for her. Without hesitation he bounded onto the street and pushed her out of the way. She hit the other side with a thud….he wasn’t so lucky. His blood stained his ginger coat. She ran to his side, tears rolling down her face. He looked up weakly and gave her a smile, then…. he was gone. She stayed with him, not wanting to leave something she loved so much, that’s when she realized that if her owners had really loved her…they wouldn’t have left her. She wailed her sorrows to the moon, waking up every living soul on either side of the street. She cried until her body couldn’t take it anymore and she blacked out. When she awoke she was in a cold, barred cage buried in the back rooms of the local shelter, she didn’t care…all she wanted was a chance to undo what she had done. Hands tried to feed her but she was unwilling. Finally she lay on an examination table as the needle slipped under skin and the cold liquid invaded her veins. She closed her eyes for the last time, or so she thought. Suddenly all was white and she found her-self squinting at some bright light. When her eyes adjusted, he was there, glowing and smiling as he made his way towards her. He said with a whisper, “now, we can spend all of eternity together.” She smiled as tears rolled down her eyes and she realized where she was… home…never again to be abandoned.
