Aparently, 60 images per texture is more than enough for many cases! as long as the polygons are not too big. This halves the orignal! gives it a PS1 look, which is funny. The new polygons are 100x100px, at 180/60 degrees steps Also, I finally impemented some depth sorting algorithm. It doesn't work all that well yet; I literally just copypasted a QuickSort implementation i did years ago... its a miracle it runs The sorting appears to be REALLY slow. Currently, I'm only sorting every 50 frames to prevent lags. Sorting should occurr only on visible faces, perhaps... but that's definetively gonna break the current pipeline, which does face-culling at the drawTriagnle call! Yikes
Now you can throttle sorting to your likes. Sorting takes time, doing it at 30FPS is not fast. Throttling allows you reduce how often you sort. As computers become faster, sorting becomes less of an issue in different machines. 3D rendering doesn't make any sense in scratch anymore. The problem is solved, the problem is old. It was fun tho! Added a bunch of textures you can try! #noturbowarp I think this concludes my journey on Scratch. It's been fun! — We may meet again with a new demo some day...just maybe.... — Rhode september 2025 Thanks for all the good vibes! HUUUGE HUG!
