PART FOUR - Story based on worldbuilding (This was kinda rushed, so it won't be that good <3 + format of this txt was better written in my word processor!) Chapter 1 – The Adventure Begins (WIP) ... “Adara, I have something I need to say to you!” Adara heard the words of her mother, she was in her room writing in her journal ... she writes in it about every two days. “Coming mother!” Adara screeched, rushing downstairs. Her mother smiled at her, “Where’s Eleinora?” “Outside, playing with her friends.” Adara’s mother explained, “Anyway-” “In the rain...? You won’t even let me go outside when it’s raining!” Adara quickly said before her mom could continue speaking. “Your... turning sixteen, and that means your gift ceremony is coming up. Eleinora is twelve.” Adara rolls her eyes, “That doesn’t mean you can prevent me from experiencing the real world.” “I’m sorry Adara, but this tone is not suitable ... I am preparing you for-” “Yeah, how so?” Adara snaps, “preventing me from seeing friends, there is more to life than gifts and ceremonies!” Adara ran outside into the rain, every step she took had more tears (or just rain) dripping down her cheeks. Finally, she arrived at her friend’s house. “Eira!” Adara squeaks as she saw her making ice sculptures. “Hi Adara!” Eira smiles, “How’s today? Ooh, your mother finally lets you outside the house?” “I am... okay.” Adara says, “No actually, I ran off.” “That... is why she never lets you... you get all stormy.” Eira says, cautiously. Hesitating with her next answer, Eira finally changed the subject, “Well like my sculptures?” “They’re nice!” Adara said, “My ceremony is tomorrow I guess ... mother already set up the preparations ... will you be there?” “Actually ... maybe so!” Eira said, “mom said I get a day off making sculptures! I am planning on using it tomorrow.” “She is making you work all week now?” “Yeah ... apparently people like them, and it gives her extra money!” Eira said, “she could at least give half of the money to me...” “Yeah, agreed.” Adara said, “Well I must be going now, mother is probably fuming in her house ... probably finding a way to convince me to do something. See you tomorrow hopefully!” “Bye Adara!” Eira waves bye as Adara walks home. The sun was out again—it only felt like 5 minutes of rain. Apparently, the rain lasted between 30 minutes and an hour. “Where were you?” Adara’s mom was angry, “Stop interrupting my speech then running away ... once you receive your gift or whatever you will not do that ever!” “You’re so annoying!” Adara screeched as she ran off to her room, slamming it. She sat down writing in her journal once more ... ---------- (Journal Entry) Today felt like endless torture, my mother is forcing me to do things now! Like why...? What’s the point? I have barely been seeing my friends these past weeks, and Eira seemed disappointed I had left ... her ice sculptures were the best things I have ever seen in my life ... they were worth a fortune with money going to her. Eleinora has been able to escape the life in my mom’s house, fingers crossed the flower has a special future planned for me ... Adara ------- Before the Ceremony- Adara was in the ceremony area, right beside the great ice lake ... decorations toward above her. The stone stage-based thing was where the leaders come and announce the lucky kids ... Adara’s mother gave her an odd look before walking over. “What... mom?” Adara said, looking away, “I do not deserve this ... just say it.” “No, Adara...” Her mom said, “I am sorry ... you deserve this ceremony ... your father would be proud.” “Yeah ... but he is gone.” A tear formed as it fell on Adara’s cheek. “Just don’t speak to me until the ceremony is over.” The leaders began to gather upon the stage, Adara watched them begin their short—but lovely speech. After about two minutes passed, they called her name up... “...Our lovely lucky girl today, Adara, has turned sixteen upon this day and is ready to receive her gift ... Adara, please come forth.” Adara began to enter the stage ... they gave the flower to her ... a sparkling flower band was up on her head ... She then looked down at her mother. Adara closed her eyes as it began ... she was ready to open my eyes a few moments later ... “And your gift is ...” The leader paused, “Undefined.” Adara bursts them open, “Wh... what?” She looked down at all of the audience's confused faces, including Eira, her mom, and sister. “This never happened before ...” One said, “That means that you have not gotten one, or it is too hidden to be revealed.” “But why...?” Adara asked, “Today...! I am sixteen, there is no way this is true! I haven’t gotten a gift?” “Sorry ... but if it is not defined soon ... you will be held in our home ... or if it is never discovered, you are useless.” (cont)
(continued) Useless, the only word that triggered in Adara’s mind was useless. I guess the world hates me now... Adara thought as she ran off home... -------- A day later ... “Mom I am just sorry I am useless!” Adara screamed, “Please do not let them take me away!” “Adara, it is alright! I never even expected ...” “What...? Me to not be anything?” Adara said, “I guess so, I will never have a gift... I will never be good enough!” She ran up to her room, shutting the door. The only way for her to escape this fate was to run away. She began to grab her bags, shoving items in it. The only thing she forgot was the journal she got when she turned fifteen. She snook out of her room, feeling the grass (not so calm) tickle her feet. Eira notices Adara and runs up to her. “I’m running away Eira!” Adara said, “I cannot stay, and never will. Please forgive me.” Eira was speechless... “But we are friends.” “We will always be friends, no matter what happens... I will miss you!” Adara ran off again, what would her mother think... her oldest kid running away... forever...? ------- Dear Journal, As I left the town, I watched the sun fall down the horizon. It seemed like the sky painted with many colors, then gradually changing to a calm blue purple ... the moon was shining down with me watching it. I drew the moon in my journal ... it was beautiful ... you would also see lights in the sky flickering ... a beautiful belt stretching across the sky. Many stars were appearing inside of it. What a spectacular sight! Well ... the adventure begins! To Be Continued ...
