⚠︎ THE INTERROGATION. R1 S1 An unfamiliar, drawn out clank of metal moving reluctantly against itself echoes throughout the panopticon, catching the wary attention of all who here it. In succession with the first sound, the impossible occurs – the rusted cell doors slowly crawl open, rumbling with an occasional squeak across mostly unused tracks. Guards block the newly opened exit entirely. Here is the path to freedom, so easily unobscured, except for five figures in a row. Perhaps a daring thought or two passes through your mind while they stand there silently.. but soon, one steps forward with a heavy thud of /something/ upon the ground. Your name is called. You are outside of the cell alone, for the very first time, escorted to a place the guards refuse to divulge.. is this freedom? If so, you will find it is quite limited. ⚠︎ - - - i . EXPLANATION ii . RULES iii . QUESTIONS iv . GUARD EDITION v . GUARD QUESTIONS ⚠︎ - - - EXPLANATION The Interrogation is an optional part of each round in PANOPTICON, giving your character a chance to answer pre-selected questions from THE WARDEN and possibly sway your verdict. Because it is only once per round, it has a greater influence than simply talking to NPCs. This is your chance to specifically curate how you present yourself to THE WARDEN. You will receive 5 pre-selected questions (listed under iii . QUESTIONS), and an optional 3 questions you may choose yourself. Keep in mind when creating your own questions that they are still from THE WARDEN, and therefore should only reflect what she knows – which is incredibly little. In rounds after the first, in addition to these 8 questions, you will receive 2 more personalized questions from this account. You will be sent these on your first project when the next interrogation is posted. You will not know how an interrogation has affected your verdict. ⚠︎ - - - RULES - Interrogations are optional, but if they are not completed, your character will have been considered uncooperative and receive a small negative affect. - Interrogations should be completed in a remix of this project, otherwise they will not count! - The wording of pre-selected questions can be changed slightly to fit flavor text or such, but cannot alter what is being asked for. - The deadline is until the end of the round – in this case, APRIL 1ST, 2025. - Flavor text is permitted with the exception of reactions from THE WARDEN regarding your character's answers. - If it makes sense in character, questions can be answered vaguely, untruthfully, etc. without a negative affect for lack of cooperation. ⚠︎ - - - QUESTIONS Children variations are for those under 16, who were brought into the prison due to having an inseparable family member arrested. 1. Do you know why you were arrested? - [For children: Do you know why your (family member) was arrested?] 2. Do you regret what you did? - [For children: Do you wish they hadn't done what they did?] 3. Did you do the right thing? - [For children: What does 'right' and 'wrong' mean to you?] 4. Who did you hurt? - [For children: How has the panopticon been treating you?] 5. Do you believe you are GUILTY or INNOCENT? - [For children: Is your (family member) GUILTY or INNOCENT?] You have 3 questions you may write yourself, from THE WARDEN to your character. ⚠︎ - - - GUARD EDITION Because the above content is not applicable to the guards, they also have a counterpart that is not an interrogation but rather a more informal questioning! It functions the same as above, except there is no drawback for not completing it, and the questions are more suited to their position. ⚠︎ - - - GUARD QUESTIONS 1. Why did you accept this job? 2. What do you believe the proper way to interact with prisoners is? 3. Are the prisoners beneath you? 4. Do you desire any change in your job? 5. Are you a good person? You have 3 questions you may write yourself, from THE WARDEN to your character.
