As someone that has never owned a PlayStation and loves Spider-Man it is hard to scratch that itch to swing around a city stopping crime and having epic fights with iconic villains and does this game scratch that itch? Yes and no it is a good game but for every good thing this game does, there is a bad thing that holds it back. I will call this the rubber band effect. The reason I am calling it this is because if we put a rubber band around two people and if one person was standing still aka the bad part of this game and one was moving forward aka the good part of this game you could only go so far forward before the person not moving would hold you back. I didn't exactly expect to be teaching you about physics during this review but I guess it's kind of fitting since Peter is a science wiz anyway let's get on with this review spoiler free of course. So game play is really good of course there is some rubber band effect but not too bad. The combat is very satisfying especially with all the upgrades. The stealth is ok but the stealth challenges are pretty bad. Some bosses are bad but most of them are ok none of them are really that great. Most if not all of them are confusing. It doesn't tell you how to beat them so you just have to figure it out. Some are straightforward, others took me a while to figure out, while the final boss was kind of annoying with patience and a little bit of luck you can beat it. The web rush mechanic isn't the greatest, sometimes you have to jump just to activate a switch or something and the game doesn't do a great job of telling you where to go because sometimes you have to go back but it doesn't tell you, so you are just going to have to figure out what to do but most of the time you just need to move forward. The story is pretty good and I don't have much to say vigilante mode it's kind of hard to explain, so just watch a video on it or something . It's a good 2DS\3DS game but if you can get it on Xbox 360 or PS3 you should. 2DS/3DS isn't a bad alternative it lacks a key feature and that is open world, but it is fine they were going to have to cut corners somewhere. That is all I have to say about this game. It is a bite sized Spider-Man game that can fit in your pocket, if it was just the game card or you had a big enough pocket. So does this game scratch that Spider-Man itch not really but is it worth picking up and playing yourself if you can get it for $10 bucks or less. I'd say it is worth it but for $15 or more is not worth it get a different game for $15 bucks like Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate for Nintendo 3DS or Get the Xbox or PS version of Amazing Spider-Man.
