Preview: [Begins with Marseal walking through his town. It's a busy city full of rats coming home from work. He is sweating, being exhausted from cleaning the gutters] [Marseal] Well that was annoying, but at least I've got the gutters cleaned. [Marseal sighs] [Marseal] Don't want mom yelling at me again... [Marseal walks by an office, where Oscar and his dad walk out, Oscar's dad being in work attire and holding his work bag. Oscar waves at Marseal and runs out of the office to greet him. Oscar’s dad is still in the building talking to some random coworker rat] [Oscar] Hey Marseal! Your mom is making you clean the gutters again? [Marseal] Yep [Oscar] wow, I don't know how you manage [Marseal] Hard work, I guess? [Oscar] sounds reasonable [Oscar's dad walks out of the office, growling at his coworker before changing his facial expression to a nicer one. He walks over to Marseal and Oscar with a smile] [Oscar's dad] Hey kid! Nice to see you around [Marseal] nice to see you too [Oscar dad] Sorry to end so abruptly, but Oscar and I have some dinner to make and homework to review! [Marseal] its fine :) [Oscar] Bye! See you at school! [Marseal] see you then! [Oscar and his dad walk in another direction, while Marseal looks back at them, before turning over, still smiling, and walking back in the direction of his home.] [Music begins, and The Town Song is sung] [After the town song, Marseal walks into his home. He puts his gutter cleaning bag down in the walkway, before entering the kitchen. Inside, Carmel and Harold are both in the kitchen. Carmel is scrolling on her phone trying to track the Floordash driver while Harold is reading the newspaper at the table] [Marseal] Mother, I have finished cleaning Uncle Chaz’s gutters. What's for dinner? [Carmel] Oh good. Well, anyway, dinners gonna be McBonalds Teriyaki. The FloorDash driver is on their way. [Marseal] oh um alright. [Marseal sits down at the table] [Marseal] I wish Uncle Chaz could just have someone else clean his gutters. Like how the one aunt I have who's ridiculously rich and just has her maid do it. [Carmel] Stop complaining roach, we all have to work hard to survive in this economy, you know. Harold’s brother is just as broke as us, now get ready for the Floordash driver to arrive. [Marseal] you know, I could just cook some decent food. (whispering) It probably be much cheaper... [Carmel turns her head up away from her phone to look at Marseal. Harold slams his newspaper flat on the table dramatically] [Carmel] *dramatic gasp* You cannot cook!! [Harold] Yes! Listen to your mother, young man, you are forbidden to cook in this household! [Carmel] Our son wants to cook! How could this happen?! [Harold] Wait until the neighbors hear! They’ll cancel us on Facebork! [Marseal] What's wrong with cooking? I do it all the time at Oscar’s house! [Carmel] You cook at Oscar’s house?! Thats it, you’re forbidden to go to Oscar's house! [Harold] Forbidden!! [Marseal] Augh, you’re so annoying! I would rather die than give up cooking and hanging out with Oscar at his house! [Harold] Guess you’ll have to rot away! [Carmel] Harold! [Marseal rolls his eyes, glaring at his parents] [Carmel] Stop giving us that sass, now go set the table for the McBonalds teriyaki. [Marseal] I'm not hungry anymore. [Marseal stands up and turns around] [Carmel] Hey we did not excuse you- [Marseal walks away dramatically to his bedroom. The parents look at each other once he leaves] [Harold] *Sigh* If only our son was normal... [Carmel] Don't worry, it's only a phase, he will grow out of it in a week. [Harold] I suppose you're right... [Carmel] Exactly. [Music starts] [Harold] But what if he continues? If he starts one rebellious phase, he’ll probably start another soon. [Carmel] *rubs her eyes dramatically* I wish our son was normal... [Duet performed by the parents about how they wish their son was normal] [After the song, it changes to the next day, where Marseal walks into his class. His classmates are talking to each other while they wait for class to start. He sits down next to Oscar, looking at him] [Oscar] Hey Marseal! How are you doing? [Marseal] Horrible, my mom is the worst! She says I'm no longer allowed to go to your house anymore! [Oscar] WHAT!! You can't come over anymore?? Why???? [Marseal] Because we made dino nuggets together, and apparently our ancestors will strike me down if I do that or something stupid [Oscar] Thats sucks! Your parents are the worst [Marseal] They are. What should we do now? [Oscar] I don’t know. Unless you want to sneak out or something... [Marseal] Okay, I'll sneak out tonight! [Oscar] Alright. [Music starts during class and the school song happens] uhh the rest doesn't fit
