[-just a story idea and a quick summary + plot outline for myself, don't mind me-] MUSEUM OF GLASS - A STORY CONCEPT [---] [] Summary: [] Sophie's life is normal as can be. She lives with her mom, has 0 friends, and spends most of her time worrying about grades and trying to avoid interaction with others. Quiet, reserved, and slightly antisocial, her one true passion is history. Wars, truces, ancient civilizations, modern nations, she loves it all. Although she doesn't really bring it up in conversation much. One day, she stops by her town's museum of history, which is strangely empty, except for a wizened old woman who mutters strange things to herself and honestly looks older than some of the artifacts on display. But there's something strange about her that Sophie can't shake, and when the old woman's hazy eyes finally focus on her and her words begin to make sense, Sophie's world begins to shatter. [---] [] Premise: [] Humanity resets every couple hundred thousand years. When they reach the peak of technological development, all traces of their existence vanish overnight as if never there. Then humans begin to evolve from primates, and the cycle begins again. No humans are aware of this. Each cycle believes they are the first and only humans. Sophia is approached by a strange woman who plants seeds of this concept in her mind. Suddenly, everywhere she goes, everything she sees looks fake, everything points to the reality she so wants to ignore: that she may not be real. As she continues finding clues and uncovering the truth behind this strange phenomenon, she begins searching for a way to break the cycle. But will she succeed? [---] [] Characters: [] Sophie Elwood - a 15-year-old girl and the main protagonist. Short, with pale skin, freckles, and gray eyes. Her hair is dark brown and cut a bit above shoulder length, usually pulled back in a half-up half-down. She wears black glasses, which she loses frequently. Personality-wise, she is quiet and meek, keeping to herself. She has social anxiety and doesn't have many [any, really] friends. Rather, she pushes herself to do as good as possible at school, to try and distract herself from her loneliness. Adama Naro - Her age is unknown, but she is a short woman with gray curly hair often tied back, and wrinkled brown skin that's lightened due to age. Wearing a pair of round glasses on a chain, Adama usually uses a cane or walker to walk. Not much is known about her, but she's only ever seen near or inside the museum, where she can be found muttering to herself in a variety of unknown languages. Rosanne Elwood - A 35 year old woman with dark auburn hair, amber colored eyes, and a pear-shaped figure. Rosanne is Sophie's mother, who tries her best to make ends for both of them with her job as a history professor. She's loving and quick to act, but can be forgetful and is prone to mood swings. Thomas Simms - A 15-year-old boy and a classmate of Sophie's. He has a lean build with dark skin and curly hair cut short, along with dark brown eyes. Thomas is
