... waves crash against the boat, spitting salty droplets at any cat who dared to near the edge. the tangy stench of sodium burns in the air. .. Eddy sat quietly, listlessly at the edge of the Stormchaser- a strange sight to see of the energetic kittypet. He rubbed the golden metal surface of his spyglass, reflecting on his time as a ship-cat. ... The Prima Volan. A result of his mistake. He never meant to board that ship. But for a short while, RiverClan became his family as the twolegs fussed over his burns. He didn’t get to know them extremely well, but he’d felt the bond. The first island. The Resort. He’d found his hair ties and had begun to sport a ponytail, keeping his long overgrown fur out of his eyes. He’d gotten his necklace, something he quite liked. It was brown like Truman, and blue just like himself! He got a peacock-feather cloak too, an excellently fitting costume for the stage. It was here that he reunited with Treasurepaw. He didn’t know the chocolate coloured prankster as well as he liked. But he wanted to know everything about him. Truman was awesome. The Zephyr’s Anchor. Treasurepaw’s home clan. He quite liked it here. Truman had invited him along, and of course he accepted! After learning all about that fishy RiverClan, he couldn’t help but stay curious. He saw Applepaw a few times- apparently she was Applehug now, and he was pretty sure he’d noticed Geodepaw too. He didn’t know what to think of Geodepaw. Truman said he’d left him for dead. But he didn’t seem like a bad cat. The second island stop. The Hideaway. It was here one of the new twolegs had gifted him with a hat! Later on he’d of course taken a nice, gold spyglass. Luckily, no one seemed to mind. The Reprise. It was here he’d said goodbye to Treasurepaw to continue his adventure. He didn’t know anyone here, but observing was fun. He never became close with anyone, and they seemed less friendly than the other clans had been. The third island. The Moonlit Cove. He’d felt awfully on edge here. At the very same time, he was awestruck. He could feel the presence of the dead. He’d had some strange strange dreams here.. And now, The Stormchaser. The final step in his adventure. ThunderClan’s boat was.. interesting. But he enjoyed the stargazing each night. It was like watching one of his science-fiction shows in real life. ... Eddy shifted, putting his chin on his paws. Feathers rustled in the wind over his back. And he thought of Cherry Blossom. ... Home. As far back as he could recall, he’d known his siblings. Marsh. Glade. And Briar. How he missed them. When he’d been brought into Avery’s shop, he knew two feline caretakers. Cherry Blossom, of course. His beloved uncle. And Forest. His dad. When Forest discovered his family, he was relieved. They were taken to Avery and Cherry Blossom, who gladly accepted the siblings. Then one day, Forest wasn’t there anymore. He didn’t know what happened to his dad. That day, Eddy was gifted his flowers and his ribbons. ... Tears dribbled onto the wood of the ship, dampening the scratchy surface. As Eddy recalled his home, he recalled the Disaster. ... The mountain that he’d admired so many times.. it exploded. Fire ravaged the land, turning the greenery to ash. He was on the balcony when it happened. He heard the panic of Avery and the customers. Of Cherry Blossom. Of his siblings. He had to save some part of home. He saved wedges of his box. They decorated the base of his tail, held together by Cherry Blossom’s ribbons and beautified by his flowers. ... Eddy squeezed his eyes shut, trying to block the memories. Tears streamed freely down his cheeks, spilling into the raging waters below. ... Avery raced fearfully to the docks, carrying Eddy’s little siblings. He wished he’d stayed with them. But of course he did not. He ventured off, curious of the flames. So off the kit-like tomcat went, scampering bright-eyed up to the fire absorbed greenery. And it danced! And so did he. He sprung to and fro before the flames, engaged in a furious dance battle with the rampant Destroyer. ... Eddy’s lower jaw stung at the recollection. He’d given up on blocking the story from continuing. ... They taunted him, the fiery majesties. A playful anger propelled him into a play bow, haunches waggling as he readied his imperfect pounce. ... Eddy could recall nothing else. Only the sharp sting of the flames, engulfing the entire front half of his body. He felt the burns branding onto his lower jaw and chest. He felt his front paw pads searing into a darker colour. He remembered bolting, shoving past strange-smelling cats and curling up behind some crates on a ship. He didn't know at the time how that would mark the beginning of his greatest adventure yet. That ship was The Prima Volan. Eddy rubbed his paw over his face as if wiping away the recollection as a whole. He grabbed his spyglass, extending it and peering out to sea. And instead of the endless water he
typically saw, the tomcat was greeted by..
