Each piece is assigned a letter. Knight = N, Rook = R, Queen = Q, King = K, Bishop = B. Pawns don't have numbers. Algebraic chess notation comes in ordered pairs (RH5) for example. The Rook, moved to H 5. If our rook stole a piece, then it would look like (RxH5). If this rook put the King in check and stole a peice, it would look like (RxH5+). If the rook stole a piece and put the king in checkmate then its (RxH5#). That is pretty much the basics. If you guys want you can just put Bf2 or whatever. PAWNS if I moved a pawn to C6, i would just put C6, and not Pc6
