3: Asyndeton, wariness He was tall, dark, handsome, but most importantly, he was suspicious. He looked like he came, he saw, he conquered all. But, I needed to trust him. Suspicious, not suspicious, he was my bodyguard. I looked at him some more, seeing if anything else was suspicious about the man. When he drank something, he didn't gulp, didn't slurp, didn't do anything with it. He just took sips as tiny as ants, rice grains, atoms even. Who does that? I continued to observe him some more. He was a boss, a leader, a charismatic man, a lunatic. He turned out to be a CEO of a bodyguard business, a food business, more. Maybe even a mob boss. He walked, ran, jogged, with speed, style, smugness there. Everyone cheered for him, loved him, worshipped him as he walks. How do people not see through his mask? It was obvious to me that he was bad, evil, up to no good at all. He sometimes tried things. He didn't fail. But, he tried again just to show off. How strange that there was a man with practically no flaws. He then shuffled to his own house. I gave him a quick side eye as I followed him. No, I am not a stalker, I am not a suspicious man, I am just simply curious about this man. What is he up to? He picks up a black phone, ring, call. He says, "Hello? Boss?" The boss says something in a muffled voice. I shuffled closer to the window, I hear key words that I had heard from the mob. My bodyguard nodded. He said in a serious tone, "We need to take her out immediately", my jaw dropped. Does he mean… me? I ran away, for my life, for my survival. Soon, my so called bodyguard followed me, chased me down, the stairs, the hall, the mall. He didn't stop. Turns out, he was a robot made by the mob. I pray, hoping that I'll be fine. (333 words) Part 4: Non sequitur dialogue Rei and her sister were taking a stroll through the well-lit city of DELT4SCAPE. The sparkling snowflakes floated to the ground gracefully. Rei stuck out her tongue, hoping for one of them to land on it. Hopefully, she could catch them, and finally see what a snowflake tastes like. After all, as a Guardian of the Holy Ones, she doesn't have much free time. Rei's sister laughed her light, yet hearty laugh. Rei's sister picked up a snow-white envelope, and gave it to Rei. She said, "It's for you!" Rei tried to open it with her gloves, but she struggled too much. She didn't want to take them off in the cold weather. It was just a pretend letter from Santa. Rei gazed at the golden embossing around the letter. Whoever made this letter is a genius with decorations. If she were a little younger, she would have been fooled. Suddenly, Rei's sister said, "You are an experiment made by your mother. I am the only child that was naturally born." Rei stared at her, completely confused. Why would she say that, and especially in the middle of reading her "letter"? Rei said, in a low voice, "Uhhhhh…. what?" Rei's sister said, shrugging, "It was time I was about to break it to you." Rei stared at the shining snow. Maybe that was an experiment too. She heartily chuckled at the thought of her, a person made of flesh and bone the last time she checked, was an experiment. Rei's sister asked, "Remember when you got constant doctor's appointments?" Rei remembered all those needles being stuck into her every month. She even remembered the day when her leg was sawed off and replaced with a metal leg. Yeesh. Her face cringed at the mere thought of them. Rei's sister said causally, "Well, well, well, well, they weren't doctors. They were the scientists that created you from your mother's DNA. You were… kind of the first clone to ever exist." Rei gasped, covering her artificially created mouth. So she was an experiment. She felt the things around her. So all this was just cloned from her mother, or gene donor. She needed to scream into a hole. (364 words)
