Story: It was supposed to be just another afternoon of hanging out, until a book changed everything. Isabella, Danielle, and Maha had been exploring the old, abandoned part of the house when they found it. A dusty, leather-bound book with strange markings on the cover. “Should we open it?” Maha asked, peeking over Isabella’s shoulder. “It looks… really old.” “I dunno, Maha… It feels wrong,” Isabella muttered, eyeing the book suspiciously. She wasn’t one to believe in curses, but there was something unsettling about it. Still, curiosity got the best of her, and she opened it. "Are you seriously going to read that out loud?" Danielle asked, crossing her arms with a smirk. "You know that's how this stuff always goes. They read the evil spell, bad things happen." Bella shrugged, already preparing to read aloud, "Why not? It's probably just some stupid nonsense..." But as the words slipped from her mouth, the air in the room seemed to change. It was as if the walls had closed in, and an eerie silence hung over them. Suddenly, everything went dark. The next day things started to feel... wrong. Maha was acting strange.. Isabella decided to approach, "Hey, Maha, you okay?" Isabella asked, eyeing her with concern as they sat in the living room. "You're acting off today." Maha-- well, the REAL Maha-- flashed a nervous smile rubbing the back of her neck. "Heh, Yea, I'm fine, just.. feeling a little strange.." But there was a bit of fear in her eyes. "That's weird." Danielle chimed in, with a bit of suspicion. "You sure you're not possessed by some demon?" "Ha-ha, very mature." Maha muttered. She felt something was wrong with her... like her own reflection wasn't right.. As the night got darker, the eerie feeling only grew stronger. The real Maha was starting to notice strange things-- like how her reflection in some mirror looked different. The air felt colder, but nothing was more alarming from when Maha saw her duplicate.. "Maha..?" Isabella said, walking into the room to find the real Maha and her duplicate in front of the mirror. The duplicate was smiling TOO sweetly.. while the real Maha was frozen in fear.. The duplicate turned her head slowly to face them, its grin stretching WAY too wide.. "Oh, hey, Izzy. Fancy seeing you here.." Isabella eyes widen a bit, "Dude what the f-" Danielle stepped inside, protective as always, looks at the duplicate. "Okay, that's enough. What's going on..? Who are you?!" The duplicate's eyes glowed in the dim light. "I'm the one who's going to take her place. You'll all see soon enough." "What the hell..?" Isabella muttered, backing up, looking between the 2 Mahas. "This.. isn't good.." The real Maha's eyes were panicking. "You need to get rid of her! She's not me! She's trying to take everything I have!" Danielle was pissed now, her tone sharp. "What the hell are you going to do to Maha?!" She stepped close to the duplicate. "You wanna play games? Try me!" The duplicate Maha smirked, unfazed. "I'm afraid you're too late.." Isabella clenches her fists. "No way in hell we are letting you steal her identity!" She turned to Danielle, whispering ."We need to destroy that book, whatever that is, it's connected to it.." Danielle nodded, her flirtatious act replaced with a cold focus. "You're right, Bell Bell.. but we need to get past this thing first.." They fought. The real Maha, trying to keep her posture, glared at the duplicate, acting like her every second.. "Get away from them!" the real Maha shouted, ignoring her fear. "You aren't me!" The duplicate laughed. "I'm better than you. I'm always one step ahead." Danielle wasn't having it, with her fist, she cracks her knuckles and looked at the duplicate. "Enough with these games! You're done." Isabella, always the logical one, grabbed the book from the corner of the room. "Let's finish this!" But the duplicate wasn't done yet. With a sharp laugh, she lunged at Isabella. "You think you can stop me? I'm the new Maha, and you're too late to save her!" Danielle grabbed Isabella's arm and yanked her out of the way, threatening the duplicate, "Get away from her!" The book in Isabella's hands began to glow, and the room shook. The duplicate let out a terrifying scream due to the immense brightness of the glow. "Is it over..?" Maha asked, her voice trembling as the light began to fade. Isabella nodded, but her voice was a bit weak. "For now.." Danielle smirked, walking up to Isabella and giving her a playful nudge. "Good work, you saved the day, as usual." Isabella rolled her eyes, "You didn't have to punch that duplicate so hard, Dani.." "Well someone had to do it," Danielle winked. "Besides, I couldn't let it touch you." Isabella sighs, but a small smile came. "I swear, Dani, you're a handful..." But there was no time for jokes. The book was still out there, and with it, more danger. "We need to destroy it," Isabella said, her voice firm. "Before someone else gets hurt.."
took me hours to think of a story..
