Important note: I wasn't sure whether sun just had tall, multicolored boots or leg warmers on. Therefore in the animation I gave her leg warmers but in the art after I completely removed them, but if I could go back I would've made them tights perhaps? Also in the animation Sun's glasses had been temporary removed (for animation and aesthetic purposes, because all we see of her face is sideways and it looked weird), but rest assured I would keep those in the original design if there's any chance I win. Anyways, this is mostly an entry for Saturn and Sun-vuika. Don't get me wrong! I love Neptune's design just as much, but there are multiple other entries for her that I think deserve her a lot more (And just have better art or lore in general). As a mainly traditional artist, I can admit I don't stand a chance. (@PiePie676 's SCRUMPTIOUS, GLORIOUS, DIVINE art. And @SeaBunnyEnjoyer 's lore is shaping up very interesting so far! It'd be really great to see more <3) Since I didn't want to add writing to this whole mess of a description, I've put it on an anonymous Google doc instead. (The link is on the extra's since scratch wouldn't let me post it here.) The Extra stuff: 1) I've never actually made a fully rendered art piece of a human digitally (just simple shading in animations and backgrounds) so wanted to go big. Eventually I decided try something along the lines of if hyperpop was an art style, and I think I did alright? Ngl I don't think the anatomy is anatomy-ing, but don't think the rendering and shading are awful. 2) The process for 1 (Just thought this would be cool to share, as I do mainly create traditional art but don't post it on scratch cuz of the quality of pictures when you import them here) I also realized I forgot the spiky pattern on the shoes in the digital version. 3) A genderbend, but if I do win Sun, she'll stay female, I made this just for FUN. This was made after number 1, so I kinda new more what I was doing I guess. I KNOW, MORE HANDS, but I'm trying to get better at drawing hands specifically, so let me be. I also changed a few design details when creating this to make the fit more masc. 4) The sketch for number 3. Okay I think I might be picking favorites here, since I've only made art pieces of Sun so far... I'm sorry, I still love Saturn's and Neptune's designs, and I'd be extremely happy with winning any of these three. 5) said she'd judge based on effort, so I guess I have that, even if I'm lacking in other areas? But don't get me wrong, I don't regret spending time on this at all. Even if I don't win, I gained some experience I suppose. 6) What I wrote is like completely not important, I just used enchanting table language so it would look cool and mysterious :) 7) A bio, some lore, and I've actually started writing a chapter (all for my pookie Sun <3) 8) I lost my Spanish streak of 85 days T-T Note: I did take inspo from like 3-5 reference pictures for each non-animation artwork while making the traditional versions, to help me with the anatomy. Note 2: I. Hate. Side profiles. Note 3: I'd always see people complaining about scratch ruining quality of art, which I never understood since I animated on a canvas smaller than the stage... But now I know how badly scratch blends the quality. Note 4 (completely unrelated) "You should really stop thinking 'bout it. Stop thinking 'bout it, stop, stop thinking 'bout it. I <3 LC Started this whole thing March 12th and finished March 22nd. Total time spent on this might be around 42-46 hours total I think? I spent almost 38 hours on IbisPaintX, and then there are the traditional drawings (2-3 hours max for those) + Writing. I just read through everything I've written here, and I kind of sound like some kind of art pick-me... It's not even close, i've just got confidence issues, I'm sorry. Although, people can't insult my art if I'm the first to say it's bad, right? I just genuinely dislike my own art style, but if I try other styles it always looks worse.
